He has to be the starting QB in 2010 but I wouldn't expect a huge payday. Incentive laden perhaps. They must work on the D overall - DL aside from KVB needs improvement, OLBs are getting old and secondary depth. The offense, as weird as it sounds, is mostly in good shape right now especially if Cook comes on like I suspect he will.
This makes no sense. He's already entitled to $14 million next year under the existing contract. How do you envision circumstances where he would not get that huge payday? Outright release? If so, he certainly won't be the Titans starter next year as you say he 'has to be.'
I was thinking whether he'd get more than he's already entitled too, fair point on the current contract. He won't be released but it will be reworked. His bonus will be nice but his base salary won't be top 3.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean here, but I'm pretty sure Vince Young has the upper hand this off-season. There would be at least a dozen teams bidding for him were he released outright. If he is in fact due $14 mill next season, the only way his contract gets reworked is if it includes a lot (
A LOT) of guaranteed salary. Considering all the money the team has saved at WR, I think they should just pay him and not think twice about it.
