Add/Drop and Waiver Wire wonderment thread: Do you still own Domingo Santana? (3 Viewers)

I need a catcher with Lucroy out. Joseph or this Mets guy?
I went with Joseph, then Plowecki was grabbed right after. Still not sure that I made the right choice. I think that Joseph has better power potential, but Plowecki may be the better average guy. At least from what I've heard
Seems like a lot of people faced this same decision. I grabbed Joseph when D'Arnaud went down but could have easily gone with Plawecki. I think they're basically a toss-up right now. Went with the veteran Joseph cuz I was more certain he would get ABs.

Michael Saunders should be activated in the next day or two. Not sure his availability in most leagues.
Does he platoon?
Probably, but he made some strides vs lefties last year, so there's a chance the Jays use him full time.
More ABs, better ball park, better offense. What's not to like?
Middling power, unknown speed following knee problems, AVG/OBP helped by above average BABIP last year, uncertain playing time

He's a decent pickup in AL-only or other deep league formats. He's probably been stashed in a lot of those leagues already.

Don't worry, I'll trade him to you at the ASB

Jimmy Paredes just got me a homerun. DH for the Orioles. 3B eligible. He's owend in 1% of yahoo leagues. No idea who he is.

AAAA guy. Saw some action a few years back when the Astros were in tanking mode. Not much power, a little bit of speed, strikes out too much. You're lucky he got you a HR, now drop him.

FWIW, I don't expect Saunders to be in a platoon. If anything, a Pompey/Pillar platoon in CF is more likely, but you should see Saunders/Pompey/Bautista most nights.

I will re evaluate him on Tuesday when I have to bring Matt Shoemaker back up from bereavement. Paredes is batting second today in front of adam jones.

Should I pick up Tex or Butler? Currently i have a plethora of all or nothing CIs on my team in Davis, Moss, Trumbo, and Morales.

I've been wrong about everything this season

Picked up Justin Maxwell to hopefully remain hot until Pearce comes back from the dead (I still believe dammit).

Any chance he works his way into a few starts a week when Pence gets back (maybe the short side of a platoon with Aoki)?

Aoki actually has better career numbers v LHP, so I doubt it.

But don't fear, I'm sure an Angel Pagan injury is just on the horizon.

How do we feel about Carlos Martinez?
Same as two weeks ago. Is he going to get left hander's out? If yes then stud. If no then frustrating.

First start was a no.
His first start he went 6 innings, gave up 2 runs, and struck out 8.

How the #### is that a no?
He did give up 2 HR and a double, plus 3 BB to lefties. Mowed down righties: 0-9 with 4 K.
Another solid outing and a WIN.

I believe
Now has faced 38 Lefties and 38 Righties.

L: .182/.289/.394 / 9K

R: .139/.184/.250/ 12K

I think that might believe in him over Smyly, especially with SP/RP eligibility.

Bochy also said Maxwell will play once Pence returns if he keeps hitting like this. Sounds like Aoki would lose starts. #sfgiants

I don't know why Tim Beckham suddenly decided to learn to hit, but I picked him up until he remembers he's supposed to be a minor leaguer.

Can't find a trade thread out there ...

Yahoo! 6x6 (with OPS) ... offered Longoria and AGon for Harper and Bryant.

I can make the positions work ... would slide Gordon from UT to OF and put AGon at UT (already have Goldy).

Thoughts?

Edit: Keep 3 league (if that matters) ... wouldn't be able to keep both Goldy and Harper next year, but all others are in play.

Hechavarria is a fluke, right?
For the most part, I think so.

His BB% and K% are same as always, and there's no way he keeps putting up those R and RBI numbers in the 8 hole for the Marlins. He might hit for a little more power than in the past but it would be hard not to.
