Call me crazy, but I'm starting them both.I have Portis, Addai, Brown, and FWP.I usually put FWP in the flex spot, but Brown, imo, has a higher upside this week.I expect the Colts to run often and use the underneath passing game, i.e. D. Brown.Of course, FWP will blow it up this week for 150 and TD and I'll look like an idiot, but whatever.

I still have Addai starting.

I hope this week can give some more insight into this committee. Still seems like Brown is playing the kind of closer role Marion Barber had a few years ago with Jones. I'm afraid it's gonna end up in a 50/50 split by midseason if neither falls to injury.

It's certainly looking that way. and a 50/50 split from a mediocre at best running team isn't going to produce many fantasy points. The only way either one seems they'll be startable is if they get in the endzone, and good luck predicting that. So far they've both scored once in the red zone.

I dropped Addai today in my league. I don't really have any regrets. The guessing game was too much for me (although I guess I did guess right. Started week 1, benched week 2). I'd rather have some potentially high upside guys for the second half of the season in the lower half of my RB stable than someone I'll have to start begrudgingly.

If you look at week 2 that way then he was also benched in week one. Here are their touches after 2 games by quarter:

Donald Brown:

1: 1 carry, 1 catch

2: 1 carry, 1 catch

3: 3 carries, 1 catch

4: 9 carries

Joseph Addai:

1: 9 carries, 2 catches

2: 10 carries

3: 2 carries, 3 catches

4: 2 carries, 1 catch

I didn't mean benched from an actual team perspective. Just as far as my fantasy team. I suppose I could have been more clear.

That being said, I did notice this trend as well in watching the games. Early on it's seemed to be a heavier dose of Addai, but as the game gets going and more critical situations arrive, they seem to lean more on Donald Brown.

Yeah, I can't tell yet.Has Caldwell addressed the their roles yet?

(FWIW: I own only Addai in one league and Brown/Addai two others ...I'm just praying they don't cancel eachother out. :wall: )

I haven't seen him address it yet. I don't think we can really gather much from the second game since they only had 10 attempts between the two of them, but the O-Line hasn't looked very good and neither of them show much burst once they get through the LOS. It's a situation I'm glad I'm not a part of anymore. I probably gave to much free value to whoever has waiver priority in my league, but I didn't even care. I couldn't even get 4th or 5th WR's or LB's and DE's for him straight up. His value in my league is shot.

Brown in 2 leagues, Addai in none. Brown hasn't sniffed my lineup yet. Considering cutting him in one league for LenDale or Antonio Bryant who got dumped by impatient owners.

I expect them to split 50/50 this week, but I am sitting Brown until the situation is more fixed. Last week Brown took a step forward but Addai is doing well enough that he is hanging in there. Still not clear.

The stats give me pause: Addai's average yard per carry this season is only 3.2--which matches what he did all of last season. Can he really hold onto his job if he performs this badly? Brown has a 3.9 ypc.

I just traded for Addai (actually, more or less traded away Portis...but that's irrelevant) so now I have both Brown and Addai in my dynasty.

I will be starting Addai until Brown is consistently getting more fantasy points. I think Donald is easily the better back but the Colts have been giving Addai the ball more and that's just more opportunities to get fantasy points.

Neither Addai or Brown are good starts this week against a stout Cardinals run D. I own both in a PPR league and have monitored the situation closely. In the game against Miami Addai missed a key block that resulted in Manning being sacked. Though Addai was averaging just over 5 yards per carry that play seemed to tick off the coaches. It was pretty much all Brown after that point. I still think it's Addai's job to lose. I think this is the week to sit both and see what happens against the Cardinals.
