Colts beat writer Philip B. Wilson suggests that Joseph Addai (shoulder) may not play in Week 15 against the Lions.
The addition of Najeh Davenport indicates concern about one of the Colts' two hurt tailbacks, and Chad Simpson (ankle) says he's good to go. We'll have an update on Addai's practice participation level later Wednesday.

As one blogger has already asked about this, let's get the roster move out of the way. The Colts have signed running back Najeh Davenport, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers...
But the more important aspect of this roster move is that running back Joseph Addai or rookie running back Chad Simpson, and perhaps both, may not play on Sunday. I take Davenport's signing as a clear indication that one of them won't go. If I had to guess, I'd say it's Addai, just because Simpson told me on Sunday after the Bengals game that he would be OK. But Tyjuan Hagler said he was good to go last week, then didn't practice and was scratched.
Colts coach Tony Dungy said Davenport would also return kickoffs, which suggests Simpson may not go. I doubt the Colts go into the game with just two running backs, so I'll be curious to see if either Addai or Simpson at least practices later this week. Have not seen the injury report yet today, but I'm guessing both got the day off. Addai is nursing a sore shoulder, an injury he suffered Sunday and actually came back from to play briefly, while Simpson sprained an ankle on his final kickoff return.
