Peterson went down awkwardly, taken away on cart.

Edit to add: Some in injury thread think it looked more like an ankle than a knee.

ESPN:

BALTIMORE -- Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was carted to the locker room after suffering an ankle injury early in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Ravens.

The Vikings have officially listed Peterson as questionable to return.

The reigning league MVP, Peterson later walked under his own power while moving from the Vikings' locker room to the X-ray room.

Peterson was tackled by Baltimore's Arthur Brown on a third-down reception from Matt Cassel, and fumbled out of bounds as he tried to stretch for a first down.

Peterson immediately rolled over in pain and had to be helped off the field. He was taken to the locker room in a cart after doctors examined his leg on the sideline.

For those who didn't see it, he was up and walking around on the sidelines a bit after the injury. He only got on the cart as a precaution.

That said, he was in a lot of pain when he went down.

Gotta love bye weeks in fantasy. Gronk, ADP, Bush all sitting on a roster getting "rest" for next week when it counts for people (I don't have that situation, just saying I'm sure its affecting people like crazy...sucks).

Hell yea I love byes. Gonna miss ADP next week but I'm sure I can find a player to get me more than he would have this week.

The ankle injury Vikings running back Adrian Peterson sustained Sunday against the Ravens might not be serious. After leaving to get an MRI, Peterson returned to the sidelines in the fourth quarter and sent a text to ESPN reporter Josina Anderson saying, "I'm good."

The FOX Sports telecast announced the Vikings won't make any announcements about Peterson's injury until after the game.

With nothing to play for and only 3 games left, i hope they shut him down for the rest of the season.

:goodposting: If he is healthy he is playing.. Rushing title is still within his grasp and no way is he going to sit.. If healthy and they do sit him he'd be on the phone to the Wilf's telling them to either fire Fraizer now or trade him to someone that wants to win.

Adrian Peterson said he doesn't believe the foot sprain he sustained during Sunday's loss at Baltimore will end his season.

Peterson, who was unable to return after going down in the first half Sunday, admitted he is experiencing pain in his mid-foot area. X-rays were negative, but he's headed for an MRI on Monday. It's a scary place for an injury as mid-foot sprains can sometimes come with Lisfranc damage. And given the fact that the 3-9-1 Vikings are out of playoff contention, Peterson won't be pushed to play through too much pain. Toby Gerhart needs to be owned across the board until we know mor

Sounds like he's Doubful at the very best for next week at this point.

WIth nothing concrete yet, the fact that words like "season ending" and "Lisfranc" are surfacing has to be extremely unnerving.... Very real chance that Peterson owners will be without their bellcow for the playoffs.

Off topic a little but does anyone know why AP went from +1 to -1 this morning in scoring. ESPN is showing no fumble in his stat line.

Peterson says he expects to play
:goodposting: Here is the link

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said Monday that an MRI exam on his sprained foot revealed no torn ligaments and also ruled out a Lisfranc injury.

He said he was scheduled to undergo a CT scan Monday afternoon to make sure the bones are OK but that he expects to play next Sunday when the Vikings host the Philadelphia Eagles.
Gotta wonder if a fully healthy and freshed legged Gerhart wouldn't be more effective at this point. He has been tearing it up when he gets the ball this season. As an owner of both this sounds like the worst possible news.

this is rather amazing considering how much pain he was in. he was screaming quite loudly from one replay i saw with the field mic on.

Gerhart "tweaked" his hamstring. Peterson sprained his foot. I don't think there is much else to see here behind those two. Unless you have some strong depth you're probably stuck with one of these two and it might not be pretty.

Adrian Peterson is superman.

He never fails, love his guts, professionalism and determination.

It really seems this happens every year. You know what, he'll play. He may just get you 10 or 12 points, but he will be there.

Yeah, I'm stunned he says he will play after he was rolling around on the ground in pain.

Most have both players. Owners probably won't have any choice but to start one if one or both are active. Many will have to pick up a backup RB just in case. Come Saturday they still may not know. Once the game starts, either/both could play the whole game, or leave. If neither are active the owner will have to plug in what's behind Door No. 4. Good luck.

 watching him walk around on the sidelines made it look like he wanted to go back in yesterday, so saying he want to play next week seems pretty benign

You have to wonder how effective he'll be. I seem to remember him being hampered by a hamstring injury this year (don't own him so haven't been following super closely) and it affected his production in at least one game.

I cringe at the thought of a MIN without AP on the field. IMO, if AP sits bump PHI DST and C. Patterson.

this is about stats dude, not desire. he's as bad as Brees.

i know it is too early but I have Leveon Bell, Andre Brown and Vereen...if he says he is going to play...do I dare sit him in the playoffs...UGH

Ever heard of Shady McCoy?

I'll tell you, I was really worried about this with all the people on here yesterday who were able to watch his game talking about how bad it looked, etc. Then I saw the play on the halftime highlights and I was wondering what they saw because if didn't look bad at all to me.

I think maybe these guys who were saying this stuff were probably playing against him yesterday or maybe looking at playing against him down the line in their playoffs. Maybe it was wishful thinking. Same crap happened the week his son died.

so you don't think his reaction was bad

:goodposting: he was rolling on the ground yelling and wouldn't even let the trainers touch it at first. But other then that :oldunsure:

LOL yea we were playing against him we made it seem worse then it was... He was just rolling around in pain screaming at the top of his lungs like a crazed man.... Everyone thought he would be back 2 min later.... Dingdong.

I have to decide between AP or Charles Clay in ppr. Leaning Clay but It's hard to bench AP if he plays.
