Keep up to four players, no positional limits. Keeper cost = one draft round higher than the previous year. Players can be kept through value as a 1st round pick. Any player drafted after the 10th round, or a free agent player, is assigned a 10th round value.

I own the 4th pick in a 12 team snake draft.

Keeper options - 2024 draft round value
Lamar Jackson - 2
Rachaad White - 3
Cooper Kupp - 4
D'Andre Swift - 4
Kenneth Walker - 5
Nico Collins - 8
Jonathan Mingo - 10
Alec Pierce - 10
Jayden Reed - 10
Chase Brown - 10
Josh Palmer - 10
Isaiah Likely - 10
Michael Wilson - 10
Trey Palmer - 10
Chris Rodriguez, Jr. - 10
Andrei Iosivas - 10

Can't keep: Austin Ekeler

Here is what I think:

  • Collins: Auto keep. Value is solid
  • Walker: Value is really good. Too good to pass us
  • Kupp: Depends on your risk threshold. Value is good but injury risk is high and that risk isn't just tied to him. Also tied to Stafford

Not considered:
  • Lamar: 1 QB league I wouldn't even entertain keeping a QB......unless the league in general keeps a lot of QB's to the point that you are forced into it. Still not good enough value to consider unless league tendencies dictate otherwise
  • Rachaad: Volume based value. I am not a fan in general so I would consider as his value isn't good enough to overcome the blahness
  • Swift: Just not good enough value and I think their backfield will be a mess with no clear winner.
  • 10th Round Cluster: The only two I would even consider is Wilson and Chase Brown. But I am not high enough on either to say they are must keeps.

Out of curiosity, why no interest in Jayden Reed? He feels like an auto selection for me, so interested in hearing your take on it.

Lot of mouths to feed. Not sure which one will do anything. Not a bad dart throw but I like Wilson just a bit better if I wanted a WR in that spot.

Reed is a better option than Wilson at round 10 value, especially when Wilson's ADP is 13th round. Why spend a 10th round pick on a guy you can draft in the 12th round if you really wanted him?

Keepers would be:

Kupp, Collins, Walker and Reed

Don't over think this, go with Reed.

The fact that you only have to start 7 (very low # of starters) you need studs. Kupp if healthy is still a top WR and getting him in round 4 is solid value.

I said I wouldn't keep either of them but he asked my thoughts and I said I like Wilson better. That was all. I still wouldn't keep a 10th round player from that list so I could pivot and be flexible in the draft with that pick.

Our league has similar keeper rules, except if we want to keep more than one player in that 10th round group, we can do so by taking one in the 9th round. As listed, I would take Kupp, Walker, Collins, and Reed. If you can keep two of those 10th rounders by bumping one to the 9th round, I would go Walker, Collins, Reed, and Likely. I would do so because of questions about Kupp's long term productivity compared to Likely's, along with the fact that Andrews contract is about near its end.

Thanks - per the rules, you can keep multiple 10th rounders. As with your league, you just have to assign them appropriate round values (8th, 9th, 10th, etc.).

Likely is an intriguing prospect, though I would note his rookie contract is up after 2025.

As much as I like Lamar Jackson and think he is going to do well this year his ADP is somewhere in the area of round 4-5. I wouldn't spend a 2nd round pick on him when I can draft him later. I think there is better value than "reaching" 2 rounds to keep Lamar.
