What do you guys think of this...the Chiefs,Broncos,Chargers are all solid along with the up and coming Raiders.I still think its the best division.

1. Denver Broncos < Carolina Panthers > Redskins

2. K.C. Chiefs < Atlanta Falcons > Cowboys

3. Chargers > Tampa Bay Bucs < Philly Iggles

4. Raiders = Saints < New York Giants

I would rank em' NFC South, NFC East, AFC West. Bolded team best of that position.

I think the NFC East is the toughest division because it's got four very strong teams.

I don't think the Raiders will be good this year, and I'm not sure about the Chiefs if Roaf and Shields retire. (Re: Shields, I can hope, can't I?)

:goodposting: Count me as another one who thinks the Chiefs will slip this year.

You're a Chargers fan, right? Just trying to get your bias straight. ;)

I'm not, I say Chiefs slip too.

I'm not saying that he's a Chargers fan because he thinks the Chiefs slip. I think the Chiefs will slip some this year, too. I was only asked because of the "I can hope, can't I?" comment. I was wondering what team he was a fan of that he was rooting for Shields to retire.

Yes, Chargers.

Bengals are only as good as the Broncos if they have their All Pro QB healthy... and from what I've been hearing recently, they've been cooling all of this "miraculous recovery" talk significantly.

You think the Bengal defense is on par with the Broncos? AFC West is the best division. NFC East is the most competitve division. Good thing the AFC East and West play this year, it can be settled on the field.

Over the last several years I would say the NFC South. Panthers/ Bucs/ Falcons have all been conference contenders. It was only last yeat that the Saints completely sucked, but I think the organization has made many positive moves this offseason. This year I would say it's between the NFC south and the NFC east depending on how well the Eagles and Saints do.

No. Personally, I think that with Indy losing Edge, Denver and Pittsburgh are the class of the AFC (and therefore the class of the NFL). I'm just saying, even if you think the Bengals are as good as Denver, if Palmer's not behind center, that's no longer the case. :)Fun AFC West Fact: In the 4 years since realignment, all 4 AFC West teams have won a division title. How's that for competitive balance? :)

AFC West isn't even the 2nd best division.

After Denver there appears to be a pretty big falloff IMHO.

I'm just not drinking the Chiefs Kool-Aid that everyone else is.

And I can't see the Chargers being a force when they have to break in a quarterback. FWIW, I'm a fan of Rivers too and think he'll be solid, but first year starters rarely light the world on fire.

The Raiders are one of the 5 worst teams in football.

NFC East is tops in my book.

AFC West is the only division right now that can claim three teams with a winning record (Den and SD @ 6-2, KC @ 5-3) and the Raiders don't look much worse than any other division's cellar dweller.

Bills dominate GB.

Miami destroys NFC's best.

Patriots about to own the Colts.

The Jets shut out the bye week.

AFC East down? :goodposting:

New England is 4-0 against the AFC East and 2-2 against the rest of the NFL. They're 6-0 against .500 or worse ballclubs, and 0-2 against clubs with a winning record. They've already lost the head-to-head against every other division leader they've faced... and worse, both games were played IN NEW ENGLAND. And the rest of the AFC East is all downhill from there.Looks like the AFC West is going to reign supreme for at least one more year.

Thoughts?

NFC East is, has been and always will be BY FAR the most overrated division in football. It's just the makeup of the overrated teams in that division.

The only one that isn't is New York. That's a pretty dang good football team.

The AFC West does look like the best division right now. It has the most total wins, and it has three very strong teams.
