What's the excuse for the other 11 years of Marvin Lewis sucking straight ### in the playoffs?Well not having AJ Green and Graham really hurt their chances as well. They had a couple deep balls today and you think AJ Green gets one of those to keep the game closer or even take the lead in the 3rd quarter.Andy Dalton is every bit as competent on as Eli Manning, Joe Flacco and many many others over the years. At least in terms of regular season statistics. It's coaching and nothing else. Marvin Lewis has zero idea how to scheme for the playoffs and every year he seems to play against a team that just out coaches him.Not easy to win playoff games without a big time qb.4 in a row... 6 total now under Lewis. He's yet to win a playoff game since taking over in 2003. How he keeps his job is beyond me.Or they could hire a much better coach. With the talent they've had they should have done much better than 4 one-and-dones.We're in a league where only a few coaches are able to have their teams be consistent playoff contenders. Lewis happens to be one of those coaches. It's essentially the Andy Reid effect. Do the Bengals really want to fire a coach keeping the team competitive and go back to the team they were pre-Marvin Lewis? In case you're curious, they were 2-14, 6-10, 4-12, 4-12 and 3-13 in the 5 seasons prior to Lewis coming on in 2003. Since then they've only had 3 losing seasons. And the last few seasons they've gone 10-6, 11-5, 10-5-1 this season. They could just as easily fire Lewis and go back to having losing seasons every year for the next decade. But in the end, the NFL is a business and the Bengals always being playoff contenders keeps the money flowing. They're not the Browns the team simply can't survive with 4-12 seasons for long before fans stop showing up.Really don't know how Lewis keeps his job.
Should be interesting if they part ways with Lewis this offseason as you can waste all of Daltons years going 1 and out.
Shtick right?Reg season stats mean nothing in the playoffs.
