***AFCC - Buffalo 15-4 at Kansas City 16-2*** (-2, 47.5) 6:30 (3 Viewers)

This game is at 5:30 CST? That’s a bit late. Wonder how cold it will be there, not that either team will really be bothered by pure cold in KC, I’d imagine.

Looks like a high of 34, a low of 26, and a 7% chance of precipitation.

Not bad. Let ‘em fire it up.

I would love for Buffalo to pull this out, but I don't feel great about it. I, and I'm sure many others, have a sinking feeling this game will be decided or some questionable call that goes KCs way.

I do think Buffalo should have a lot of success running the ball. Chiefs run D is fine, but they give up some big plays when teams stick to it, and I could see Cook/Allen having good games. I think passing will be tougher.

This would be an ideal time for Amari Cooper to suddenly show up, but that feels unlikely. I don't think Cooper (or Hopkins for that matter) are washed, but I think we underrate how tough it is for a WR to switch teams midseason. Davante Adams (who is also a much more talented player) was an exception because of his history with Rodgers.

I think Mahomes has a nice game against a pretty banged up Bills secondary. We'll see if Johnson and Rapp play. Johnson seems more likely. I can't help but think Kelce was coasting a bit during the regular season. He was wide open for most of the Texans game, and they've been a better pass defense than Buffalo has. Will the Bills pass rush get to Mahomes? In theory, Von Miller vs Jawaan Taylor is a gigantic mismatch, but its easy to see Mahomes just getting it out quickly.

Chiefs-24
Bills-21

All year I've been hearing how Kansas City is not the team they have been
That they are lucky and get breaks from the officials
That they've had a lot of one score games
The Bills are a good team but not a great team
The Bills defense is suspect
The Ravens are the best team in The AFC
Well here we are on Championship Sunday and it's Buffalo and Kansas City
Buffalo beat "The best team in The AFC"
And Kansas City won another close game with "help" from the officials
None of it matters now
The winner of this game wins The Super Bowl imop
And I think Josh is primed to steal some of Patrick's thunder
So...

Buffalo Bills- 27
Kansa City Chiefs- 24

Chiefs 23
Bills 21

Chiefs march on to make NFL history with an unprecedented 3rd straight SB win.

The Chiefs offense is just not right. I expected Reid to call some wacky **** this past weekend that he's been saving up. But I thought he called a terrible game.

Or he is still letting Nagy do it. Either way nothing is fixed with this offense.

Yeah, they might lose by 40 this weekend

Average O vs average D puts up 22-23 points. KC O is just slightly better than avg (IMO); KC d is just slightly better than avg. Buf O is avg. Buf d is avg (?). This usually inaccurate system predicts a KC win along the lines of 26-20.

Edit to add: O'er the way-too-many years, I've come to realize that stuff I posted above usually pales when emotional factors exist. Buf is on a roll, but KC has home field. This is likely a wash, but one or the other will probably go away, leading to a blowout. Always consider emotional factors!

Hasn't been right all season compared to years past. They keep winning.

You guys with the “refs are going to win it for the Chiefs” lines.
Wouldn't it be ironic if the part time officials made a questionable call that went against The Chiefs
And Buffalo won the game and then....
Oh never mind,I just realized how funny that sounded as I was typing it :ROFLMAO:
wouldn't it be be ironic/funny too if a real ref came over to console Josh on the bench ....oh wait...

It’s honestly baffling to me that chiefs fans can actually not see what has been going on. They are blind to what every other fan can clearly see.

I'm pretty neutral and Mahomes gets the Jordan treatment. Whatever you think of that, it's generally reserved for the best in the sport at the time. Mahomes, despite Allen's and Jackson's superior numbers, is Jordan-esque right now and gets calls.

I've never liked Jordan treatments. It's noticeable this year and really this year only. Anybody crying about it from years past seriously needs a check up from the neck up and some Haterade to quaff.

I don't mind that Mahomes gets the Jordan treatment. Lots of other superstar players get soft calls too. My complaint is with the other stuff, e.g. the fact that NFL allows their RT to false start on every play.

I am not a Chiefs fan, but I do not see what you see. Yes, they get some calls, like superstar teams/players always do in sports, but this idea that the fix is in or that the officials are consciously trying to help them in just crazy talk. The more likely explanation is that NFL officiating right now just isn't very good in general. I see bad calls happen in practically every game now, but the Chiefs, because they win the most, are the most visible team and thus the ones in their games stand out more.

I'm gonna say it, I don't think the Chiefs get more favorable refereeing than other teams. Overblown narrative. They win games because they're a talented team with an all-timer at QB and some elite pieces scattered around, with a great coaching staff. Bad calls happen. Quit whining about the refs, imo.

I can't think of another offensive lineman who is allowed to false start over and over again. False starts aren't missed all that often in general, but Jawaan Taylor gets away with it constantly. I would like to agree with you that we're just over-reacting to routine bad calls, but the Jawaan Taylor rule is a datapoint that strongly refutes that idea.

I agree, but Lane Johnson was doing the exact same thing for Philadelphia two years ago and did it flagrantly and consistently. No calls. Ever. He was moving way before the snap. I think he tipped off the league that you can do that, basically. I hate Taylor moving if only because I'm generally rooting for Mahomes to do well (fantasy QB of mine) and it costs them penalties in addition to the kind of fact that the dude that does it isn't very good and still gets beat off the line.

But yeah, I get how those things adding up are maddening if you're their rival and they're standing between you and glory. I really do get it. I just don't get the weekly fulminations in the Shark Pool where Kansas City is getting every call every time.

Hey, the refs called a very, very questionable call on Sauce Gardner to hand the Chiefs a game against the Jets last year. I just don't see rank favoritism. I see Mahomes getting some calls, though. That I see.

The tackle movement was explained in the other KC game thread, and yet here we are again.

This is getting boringly repetitive.

Just to add to above,

Whitworth, Lane and others were also exploiting this loophole.
