After NE watches the tape for this MNF game, they are going to be licking their chops big time. question is, who thinks that wade phillips and romo can settle down on a short week and prepare for the pats? it looked like a possible preview of the superbowl...now, not so much. I mean after tonight... Do we dare bench baby farve?

Me. He still scored 15 points in my league with all of the turn overs. My backup is Anderson, he scored 17

Yeah bench the top scoring player in most fantasy leagues! Brilliant.

Also do you not think that the Pats will lay an egg or two this year?

same thing could have been said about grossman going into the 2nd half of the season..... i mean watching the game he looked way off on alot of his throws. it could just be a bad day or could it be another grossman all over again? i mean we have to put into concideration that his was the bills. the last ranked passing def in the league! now flash foward to sunday. cowboys have a short week to prepare. NE im sure will take something if not alot from this monday night game. they are only allowing 177 yards passing so far. so are we not suppose to concider all this because hes so far the top scorer in some leagues?

Do you really think Grossman could toss 5 pix and a fumble and still have the cahones to lead his team to a win?Nope. He aint no Wrecks G and he stays in my lineup this week. Rolling with Romo all the way.

If you are playing my team then by all means consider it and bench him.

Minnesota game last year....don't recall the exact stats but Grossman had a bunch of turnovers and played horrible, then led them to a win at the end with a picture perfect 30 or so yard TD pass.

Rex G only had two INTs that game and no fumbles. That was not a similar situation.

Agreed. If you can justify benching Romo the you are the type of person that may win a championship despite of yourself instead of because of it.overthink things much?

I will play him but I platoon him with Palmer. The guy cost me a win though, and I am having a hard time getting over it. 6 turnovers? Come on.

Yes, they will probably be going after him a little more then they would have after the Monday night game, but my beloved Patriots are still giving up passing TDs, 7 so far, and Dallas does have some nice options for dumping off passes with Barber and Whitten, so that pressure may not stay on.

This is what other QBs have done against them with fantasy points of 1 per 20 passing yards, 4 per passing TD, -2 per INT.

Code:
Player........Yds..TD..INT..FPPennington....167...2....0..16Rivers........179...2....2..12Edwards........97...0....1...2Palmer........234...1....2..11Anderson......287...2....3..16
Or just slightly worse then they've done against other teams.

I'm not sure if I speak for any other Drew Brees owners in the Shark Pool, but given the two player's performances in every game up to this point, I'd rather have Romo and start him. In fact I may prefer to start Romo on bye over Brees.

With 6 turnovers (-2 each one) he STILL scored 17 last night. It will be a tough game to be sure, and I was amazed at some of the bad reads he made (he clearly wasn't right last night), but he still could get his. I still love the fact that they throw downfield and take chances. I don't know about your leagues, but the conservative 18-22 for 166 yard stat lines I see from conservative QB's do me no good.

:lmao: I remember Favre throwing 6 picks in a game....pretty sure P Manning has had 4 or more turnovers in a game....Brady has thrown 4 picks before......everyone has bad games. But as Judge Smails indicates, if you want your QB to put up monster stats, that QB needs to be throwing the ball down the field....which can end up in INTs.Romo is higher risk than most QBs, but VERY high reward.Romo scored 15 for me despite 6 turnovers.....one point more than Roethlisberger, who had 200 yds passing, 1 TD and no turnovers.....for 14 pts. And if 15 points is a clunker game for Romo, the sky is the limit. This was a classic trap game......DAL was clearly looking past that game and it almost cost them a win.

:lmao: This thread is pretty useless unless you are in a super shallow league or you invested way too much in Quarterbacks...

Or that 3 bad quarters of Romo play override the previous 16+. Everyone lays an egg, Romo laid his. I'm actually more confident in him knowing he got the shakes out of his system.

Is this a serious thread?
 He made some terrible throws, let the insane crowd and worsening circumstances get in his head. It happens. Why would anyone bench him? I'm seeing some people say his career is going to spiral downward now. Are you f'ing kidding me?

Patriots have looked good, but do you think this might have helped:

Team W-L Offenseive Rank

Jets 1-4 29th

Chargers 2-3 18th

Bills 1-4 31st

Bengals 1-3 4th

Browns 2-3 8th

Avg/tot 7-17 18th

So you see here even though the Pats are dominating they are dominating less than quality or even par teams. Dont bench Romo, he is a stud

I have him in a league where there aren't any penalties for picks, so there's no way he sees the bench.
 Depends entirely on the league scoring. In one of my leagues, Brady and Romo had the same score Week 5. No way should Romo ever be benched in that league, especially at home.BTW, Romo ended up winning them that game last night, despite TO dropping critical passes (particularly the one on that last drive). Would have been a chip shot FG if TO catches that. The Defense kept them in it despite all of Romo's turnovers, and allowed Romo to step up and lead them to the win. If anything, the win only serves to help build his legend.

it does appear that he has a tough time in "spotlight" situations."
Do you mean like in the last 3:45 of a MNF game where his team's unbeaten streak is on the line and the media has already been hyping the next game against another unbeaten team that just happens to be the favorite to win the Super Bowl?

What's truly amazing about Romo and it's something I think most people take for granted.....but this guy, in essence, doesn't even have a full season worth of starts under his belt yet. To be putting up the numbers he does and to lead a team to 5-0....well....I'm impressed.

Everything went wrong for Romo and he still scored a lot of points for me. I think this game was an abberation. I don't think TO will drop as many balls. I don't think the Romo will throw another 5 picks. If this is the worst game Romo has I would not be surprised. He's number 1 overall in the two leagues I have him in and there is no way I'm benching him.

Dallas' opponent's combined record this year is 6-19, so if you are using a weak schedule as a way to downplay New England then you have to do that even more-so with Dallas (not to mention NE dominated the Chargers, which are leaps and bounds above any team that Dallas has played this year).Romo threw 8 INT's over the final 5 games last year, not to mention getting dominated against the only two good defenses he played against (PHI and NO). I don't see how he is an elite QB when he hasn't shown he can perform well against good teams.

It might be important to note that Rex has NEVER thrown 5 interceptions in a game. That's Kordell Stewart territory.

 Kitna @ WAS last week?McNabb vs. NYG week 4?Hass @ PIT?Brees vs. CAR?VY vs. ATL?Cutler vs. SD?^ There's a bunch of 'top 15' qbs who had rough weeks.Your argument might have merit talking about NFL (playoff) football, but that's yet to be seen. He had his team lined up to win @ SEA on the road in his first (partial) year of starting - only to muff the FG attempt. In the world of FF, Romo is looking damn good so far.
