9 teams have 0, 1 or 2 losses

DAL at SF tonight - 3-3 at 3-4
NYG at PIT MNF - Steelers are 5-2, Giants suck

Whatchagot?

Points differential has me voting Detroit. Detroit would have blown out a team like the Raiders (ranked 23rd in the league against the run). Kansas City reminds me of the 2022 Vikings. They are finding ways to win but it is not convincing.

In October, Lions QB Jared Goff:
  • completed 52-of-65 passes (80.0%)
  • for 680 yards
  • 8 TDs
  • 0 INTs
  • 149.8 passer rating
  • Lions have now won 5 straight
  • During their win streak, Goff has 19 incompletions. The team has scored 24 offensive touchdowns while he was on the field.
This is the highest passer rating any QB has ever posted in the month of October in NFL history.

Patrick Mahomes threw his NFL-leading 9th interception today.

Anyone voting for anyone other than KC has it wrong. They are the defending champs and are undefeated. They are the best until proven otherwise.

Agreed...may not be flashy enough right now for some but the trio of Mahomes, Reid and their D knows how to win.

I VERY begrudgingly have to give it to KC. They never look impressive, but there is a skill to winning these kinds of games consistently. I don't think they are like the 2022 Vikings at all, they just seem like a team that knows they can coast a bit during games and seem to be able to ramp it up whenever they need to. Its annoying, and I hate it. But they aren't 7-0 and defending champs by accident.

ETA: While they aren't the best, I do want to give a sneaky shout to Philly. They are undefeated with AJ Brown (4-0) and the Atlanta loss was about as unlucky as it gets. I think they are gonna be a problem for any team they face, even if they seem to need a quarter to get going.

KC is also playing without 3 key players on offense and it shows from time to time. Detroit has been healthy on that side of the ball.

Better defense than DET, better QB. DET has better oline and skill players. It would be a great Super Bowl.
Agreed.
I think Buffalo is really hitting their stride. Lots of people keep picking against them (a lot had Seattle this week) and they just keep rolling teams.

I'd pick them over KC in a game today.

For all those voting KC, if Likely's foot is one inch back are you voting Detroit?

This reminds me of all the Philly and Dallas people last year getting excited because they were beating up on cream puffs. You really do have to factor in schedule and how teams look into the equation.

last week people....(good morning football, etc).....were all up on the Ravens nuts...."cuz they light up the scoreboard"....and thought they were the best NOW....(even tho KC beat them week one)....yet they have lost to the Raiders at home and now a CLE team with their backup QB and their best offensive player (cooper) gone...BAL is now 3 games behind KC in the playoff hunt....people get excited about all the razzle dazzle of Lions and Ravens...defense and coaching matter....its hard to say how many points Reid and Spags are worth each week.....and no Hollywood, no Rice, no Pacheco....

Chiefs. Spags has had that D playing like world beaters the last 2 years.

Even with all the injuries, the Offense always does enough. You can bet against Big Red and Maholmes, but you better not be betting money you can’t afford to lose.

I think another thing in KCs favor that nobody else since probably prime NE had, is that intimidation factor. I don't mean from like a physicality standpoint, just that for whatever reason teams tend to forget who they are and do dumb things when playing KC. Like today, the Raiders just stopped scheming plays for Bowers, or the Ravens, who just stopped giving it to Henry despite never being down more than 1 score.

Its like KC is the big giant they have to slay, and they psych themselves out, because they have to be their very best to beat KC. Teams (especially the Steelers) did it against NE, I remember teams doing it against early 2010s Seahawks, and the late 90s Broncos. The only team that has seemed immune during this run, for whatever reason, is the Bengals, and not coincidentally they are the only ones to beat them in the playoffs.

@BrettKollmann

Your job as a coach is to put the players in position to succeed.

To actively avoid putting your players in position to succeed, and then blame them for NOT succeeding, is not how you coach.

Look at the accountability Dan Campbell takes when **** goes wrong.

THAT's leadership.

Boy, am I beginning to look like a genius or what? I've said all season long that it would be the Lions beating the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. And it looks like that might be $$$$!

all jokes aside, it's the lions.

maybe they don't count for the purpose of this poll but I think the 49ers are phenomenal. I think Purdy is a great QB and CMC will be back soon.

Steelers are pretenders unless they come up with another good WR. If they would happen to get one, and I'm not talking Mike Williams - like, with their defense.... look out.

As someone who absolutely loathes KC and absolutely loves seeing Detroit beat up on everyone...

It's KC.

Simple as that. Call me when the Super Bowl has ended, and MAYBE I'll change my mind.

So refreshing to hear a Browns fan provide the definition of success for us.

Fun fact I learned just now: September was National Self-Awareness Month.

I’m a Steelers fan and they need a lot more than just 1 receiver to become the best team in football. Their offensive line is a disaster. Until they fix that (which is mainly an issue because of injuries), they don’t have a shot in hell against a team like the Chiefs.

I love that what you took from what I wrote is lions slander

They're easily my fave team to watch, and nothing would make me happier than to see then win it all.

But until they take down the b2b champs, who remain unbeaten, you can't say you're #1.

Fail to see the issue w the logic

Another team to keep an eye out for is Denver. I know they've beaten up on the somewhat more lowly teams, but they've got a good chance of going into Baltimore and winning that game next week, and I'll even say this: In 2 Weeks, they go into Kansas City and hand the Chiefs their first loss of the season. Does anyone want to jump on the Broncos' bandwagon?

I looked at [it] as being ironic because
1) you and I are wholly unqualified, as Lake Erie brethren - Bills Mafia, too - deciding what it takes to win championships, and
2) it is incredibly lacking in self-awareness to not realize point #1.

At no point did it occur to me you were slandering Detroit or the Lions.

The mistake you are making is assuming the Ravens win the game if Likely's foot is one inch back. Okay, what happens if he scores and they go for 2 (which it appears they were going to) and don't get it? What then?

But hey, since you want to factor in how teams look this season, have the Chiefs ever looked as bad as the Lions did when losing at home to the Bucs? How about the Ravens losing at home to Garden Minshew? Certainly the Chiefs have looked worse than that, right? And I get it, if we flip it, the Chiefs have never looked as dominant as the Lions have at times this season, but the Chiefs are consistent; they just win.

We know what it takes to win... We've likely both seen some of our other teams in other sports win it all.

The lions are the faves to topple the KC wall, and I want nothing more than to see it.

For what it's worth - Las Vegas Odds For Winning Super Bowl.

Seems clear KC and DET are on top.

The Ravens are the one I have a hard time figuring out. Sometimes they look unbeatable. Sometimes they look like they did yesterday. Shark Pool way lower on them than Las Vegas.

Bills and Eagles feel like they're moving up. Packers moving up slightly.

Washington is super fun but the Shark Pool is way higher on them than Las Vegas.

Their defense stinks this year. They are bottom 10 in both yards allowed and point allowed per game. Hard to trust that a team with a defense that bad to get it done and win three playoff games in the AFC to even get to the Super Bowl, especially when they have a QB who always goes from great to not-so good in the playoffs.
