Ahmad Bradshaw (1 Viewer)

Does he have any value left? I was one that figured he would eventually get the starting nod, but Jacobs is tearing it up.

not unless you own jacobs.i would rather own Ward as the handcuff, but at this point if Jacobs goes down those guys will still go off. Ward will start and get the goalline action, but Bradshaw a totally playable FLEX change of pace back.only Ward has any value at this point (I think a mid to weak RB3) moving forward as long as Jacobs proves durable for what they are asking of him.

Ward has been a decent flex for abt 5pts minimum on most weeks. I keep playing him on the good matchups since he seems like he can break out on almost any run. I might try Bradshaw in a game where you know it will be a blowout but that isn't always so easy to predict. cbs sportsline put it best that it is like trying to catch lightning in a bottle in hoping for another big week like he had in week 2. If Jacobs goes down Bradshaw will get alot of touches like Ward is now.

I still have him on my keeper roster. I won't have room to keep him next year, but I don't want the Jacobs owner to get him.

Yes yes yes. There's not a bigger Giants homer on these boards than me, but I'll be the first to acknowledge that Jacobs and Ward are not poster boys for good health. The three RB rotation has helped keep all of them healthy thus far, but it's a long season, and I could easily envision a scenario where Bradshaw is helping teams win FF titles come playoff time -- this year.

If you have the space and he's available on your WW, he would be a fine ahead of the curve pickup IMO.

I love this quote about Bradshaw from BBI's review of the Seahawks game:

"Ahmad Bradshaw, with the exception of his kick return duties, I firmly believe is locked in a box for 3 quarters and various team employees walk by and poke him with sticks to make him mean. Bradshaw picked up 65 yards on 11 carries and had another memorable tackle breaking, Tasmanian Devil like run on the Giants’ final scoring drive of the game. Bradshaw again played like he was shot out of a cannon, and busted through arm tackle after arm tackle en route to a gutty 32 yard run."

That made me to a spit-take on my monitor. Thanks for posting this, needed a laugh on a otherwise dreary hump day.

I could see Bradshaw overtaking Ward within the next 3 weeks. Much more exposive!

Bradshaw will NOT overtake Ward. Ward is in there consistently, provides great protection for his Manning, is a good receiving option from the backfield, and is averaging 6.6 ypc.

Bradshaw's value is for 2009 because neither Jacobs or Ward are under contract after this year.

Regardless of re-signing either one, we know the Giants will bring someone in (they won't have only 1 RB on the roster).

Who they bring in, draft, or re-sign will determine Bradshaw's value.

Anyone else care to chime in on the over/under on when Jacobs and/or Ward get injured this season? :lmao:

So says a guy with Derrick ward on his team. Just don't be disappointed when it happens.

Something weird is going on here. I went into the season very high on Bradshaw but I've been leery ever since Game 1 where he received zero carries. Coughlin initially said he was at fault for messing up the rotation and then I believe later told the media that everything happens for a reason and they aren't always in the know of why a team does things [implying strongly this was a punitive decision]. The fact is Bradshaw has produced but this staff has elected to use him for garbage time only; in fact gives Ward the carries when the game remains in question. Case in point, even thought he amassed 65 yards last week, his very first carry occured in the 4th quarter with the score 37-6. Something stinks here.

The NYG offensive line may be the best in the NFL and helps to make all Giant RB's look good. With that said, I still go back to the most crucial times last year (playoff run) and Bradshaw was the better RB and has looked great in limited action this year. The NYG coaching staff has not used Bradshaw much so far but it has worked for them, Jacobs looking great.

I would make sure to hold onto him or acquire him for cheap in dynasty, as his talent will surface in NY or elsewhere in the next couple of years. If I'm not mistaken both Jacobs and Ward contracts are up this year. He does not have great size but can still run inside and seemed to improve his pass blocking last year and he has great vision, quickness, footwork, and receiving skills- JMHO.

I'm skeptical about the "in the next three weeks" projection. What are we (or the coaches!!!!) going to see Bradshaw do in the next three weeks that we haven't seen him do before?Bradshaw has supposedly been "much more explosive" since last season, through the offseason, through the preseason, and through the first 5 weeks of the season...yet Ward is still getting the carries. Bradshaw gets garbage time.

At some point, the bank stops believing you are going to send them the mortgage payment "in the next few weeks" and they foreclose. I've been hearing this about Bradshaw since last year and I'm not buying it anymore.

He has 2009 value, but for 2008 I don't think he has much value outside of a Jacobs/Ward injury. Jacobs+Ward is working too well, and the Giants are winning with it. Ward is clipping along at 6+ yards per carry and has looked pretty "explosive" as well. Coaches don't phase out that kind of production during winning streaks. Absent an injury, at best you're going to get Jacobs+Ward+Bradshaw.

Some of the pre-season hype on Bradshaw was pretty high and I think some expected him to be a greater part of the equation this year. The fact that Jacobs is a beast and Ward has been playing well doesn't take away from the talent Bradshaw has shown. He is worth holding on to as the guy runs hard and it's hard to coach heart. Belichick has been trying to do that with Maroney with limited success.

I agree with what you are saying here. If it is not broke don't fix it.For long term value of the Giant RBs however it is important to recognize that:

1. They did not give Jacobs a contract extension. If Jacobs stays healthy all season and keeps performing as well as he has I expect they will though. Still 11 (and playoff) games to go.

2. Ward was a free agent but didn't sign with any other team. When the Giants resigned him it was late, just before training camp and only a 1 year deal. He has been a injury prone player but knows the Giants system. I see the way they are using him now having to do with his experience and using him as a expendible commodity to keep Jacobs and Bradshaw fresh.

3. Bradshaw continues to perform well whenever he is given the opportunity. I think he is the most complete as in versitile RB they have and part of why he is getting late action may have to do with saving him for the playoffs, which is what they did last year.

I do not see any of these points changing the status quo. Just fleshing out my perspective on the situation. A injury to Jacobs or Ward increases Bradshaws opportunity and he has excelled with every opportunity he has had. His abilities in the passing game are not being featured as much because of the score when they are bringing him in (garbage time) but I think in tighter games we may see him called upon more in this capacity as the season wears on, especially in the playoffs. The jury is still out on how Jacobs/Ward hold up this season which will have an impact on what the Giants do in free agency/the draft but I like Bradshaws prospects long term best of the 3 RB.
