AJ Green Trade Value (1 Viewer)

In a very competitive 12 Team Dynasty PPR (1 pt) League - keep 21.  Unlikely to win league with current running backs, due to a poor trade last off-season.  Need to go into next season with two new potentially starting running backs. What would be reasonable to expect in a trade for AJ Green:  1) RB Equivalent; 2) All Draft Picks; or 3) Combination of RB and Pick(s).  Green is arguably my best tradable currency.  Have 1.07 with no other picks until 3.07.  League starts - 1QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, 1TE, 1 Flex(RB/WR/TE).

Unless there is a contender around 1.05/1.06 you probably will have to settle for something in the later 1st range, maybe with a throw in like treadwell or Coleman or Doctson, or like a dixon or foreman, someone that may still be something but has a lot less value than their original draft position.

Maybe you could get like Drake or ajayi and a 2nd or 3rd, or Melvin Gordon if you want to throw in something else. I think even up you might get offers like McCoy, hyde, Miller, etc. Maybe I’m way off, I like green but will be in the downward side of his career, still has dalton and Lewis, I just don’t think the market is hot for green right now.

In terms of picks, a mid 1st is about right.  You aren't going to get a high 1st unless you're really want to sweeten the offer, and since you're weak at RB, it's probably pointless to try.  A late 1st/2nd rounder could work, or a late 1st plus some throw-in.

Unfortunately, the window to get max value for Green passed by a season or so ago.  Definitely now on the downside of his career.  If you can't win the league, you might as well move him and get some picks or a young prospect.

You may be able to maximize value for Green once the season starts.  I know this doesn't help for the draft but you aren't going to get an impact player in the draft in the range of pick you would likely receive for Green.  He doesn't have any excitement so he isn't going to bring a top haul right now.

However, during next season after he has one of his big games try and move him to a contender and you might be able to get a quality 2019 pick or a couple upside pieces you like to build around.  I think that may be your best bet to maximize value on a return.

In DLF January mocks Green is going #18 overall, which would be 2.06 in a 12 team startup. He is listed above Gordon, Freeman, McCaffrey and Mixon.

It depends on the year but the 1.02 falls about mid-second in startups, some years higher, some years lower.

Mocks are more theory than reality, but  as I read this, if you are patient you might the 1.03 or 1.04 pick or one of the above RBs (although I think Mixon would be the most realistic possibility) at worst you should have a good shot at mid-1st that will probably land you a decent RB.

I understand Green will turn 30 this year, but probably has another 3-4 solid years of production. I wouldn't consider giving him up for a late 1st, even if I were in a rebuilding mode.
