Alec Baldwin: Comedy Central Roast (1 Viewer)

On tonight. De Niro is one of the roasters.

It seems like it has been awhile since they did one of these. The last one I recall was with Roseanne, and it wasn't all that good because she is beloved by other comedians so there was no real anger, and no one took the knives out. Jerry Stiller was the same way.

The ones with the intensity have been fueled by contempt for the subject: Chevy Chase, Bob Saget and Larry the Cable Guy.

All-time great line was Greg Giraldo looking right at Larry the Cable and shouting, "How the eff are you so popular".

Jenner is a train wreck I can’t look away from but he should have said he chopped it off to stop making kardashians

francos was pretty good -  willis was meh

I've only seen a handful of these, but the one for Justin Bieber was actually pretty hilarious.  Martha Stewart killed it.

Fellow comedians hate Saget?

I've read that he doesn't have a lot of street cred because his stand-up was fairly raw and edgy, but he traded that in to make a fortune playing the most bland one-dimensional type of sitcom Dad. Maybe the anger is motivated in part by professional jealousy. During his roast it was mentioned quite often how he had made something like 50 million off of America's Funniest Home Videos, and the roasters weren't speaking with admiration.

everything ive seen of comedians, is they 100% support eachother making coin when/where available. they know the craft is a hard one to cash in on..

i think they disdain they showed on the roast, was for the roast. they dont hate saget for FH or AFHM... these guys are on the road, nonstop grinding. i am certain they have no issue with saget making his cheese

plus, he got EVERYBODY, every raggedyass comic who made his way out west, into the Playboy Mansion backinaday, so whatever EB saw of SagetHate™ was probably comic-effect bluster

Heard one of the lines that didnt make the cut was from the female comedian....

"Here's the thing...which coincidentally is how Alec introduced me to Kaitlyn Jenner backstage...."

:lmao:

I've only watched the beginning, but the first woman roaster was really funny I thought.
That was Nikki Glaser.

Overall, I thought the roast was pretty good. It tailed off towards the middle but Alec's end was pretty solid.

The lines that had my wife and I laughing were when someone said DeNiro looked like Alf and....

Nikki Glaser (to Blake Griffin): “Blake, you look like a black guy that got made by a printer running out of ink.”

The Nobu-Harriet Tubman line was funny too.
