The obvious 2 players you ask how would this affect is Crabtree and Davis, but someone has to throw them the ball. 3 TD's in the second half and definitely has way more zip in his passes than Shaun Hill. The offensive plays had a lot more 3 WR sets. Look at his schedule after the Indy game. Chances are, he might throw for a few tds in the Indy game because he'll have to play from behind too.

I still think SF hopes to be a ball control team... so even if Smith is their starter, I'd have him around QB 15-20 going forward. A decent QB2 in most leagues.
Don't get me wrong, I like Smith's upside more than Hill's, but I also think Smith might be more prone to INTs and mistakes... but ultimately, I think the running game is the focal point of the offense if Gore is healthy.
