Seahawks' Alexander To Miss Rams Game

POSTED: 9:39 am PDT October 9, 2006

SEATTLE -- Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren doesn't expect running back Shaun Alexander to be ready for Sunday's game at St. Louis.

Holmgren says Alexander needs more time for a broken foot bone to heal. Last year's NFL MVP should return for the Oct. 22 game against Minnesota in Seattle.

While Seattle had a bye Sunday it was knocked out of first place in the NFC West by the Rams who beat Green Bay and improved their record to 4-1.

The Seahawks are 3-1 after their loss in Chicago.

Seattle beat St. Louis twice last season.

Watched the Mike Holmgren Show last night, and Mike said there is no chance he will play this week.

They were gonna do another MRI just to check up on how the bone is "knitting" he said. Whatever that means.

He said he hopes he would be ready for the following game.

I hope he sits out an additional week for good measure and doesn't return until week 8. Worst possible scenario is he rebreaks it because it's not fully healed.

I can't believe this Madden curse crap. WTF? I don't believe in that type of nonsense but this is just strange. :tinfoilhat:

Excellent post! Thanks for the update. I traded Willis McGahee for him straight up this week and have enough RB depth to let the whole thing play out.

I am crossing my fingers about the trade, but every trade seems to be a crapshoot these days.

Mike Sando, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander (foot) is expected to miss the Week 6 game. An MRI on his foot showed the cracked bone is better but not all the way healed.
