Alexander out, Johnson a "bust", Tomlinson = god (1 Viewer)

Non-PPR league, if I had to draft right now for the rest of the season:

1. LaDainian Tomlinson

2. Larry Johnson

3. Clinton Portis

4. Rudi Johnson

5. Brian Westbrook

6. Tiki Barber

7. Warrick Dunn

8. Chester Taylor

9. Steven Jackson

10. Ronnie Brown

(I don't know where to put Gore because I'm not up on the latest injury news with him right now.)

Think I'd still rather have Alexander over those at the bottom of that list. He'll miss a couple games but his upside is right there with those at the top of the list.

That's what I get for trying to do it off the top of my head. Insert Willie Parker maybe between Tiki and Dunn.

Standard scoring:

Right now:

Tomlinson

Rudi

Tiki

Portis

Larry Johnson

Trade for:

Steven Jackson

Tatum Bell

Willie Parker

Ronnie Brown

Willis McGahee

Chester Taylor

Be happy to have:

Kevin Jones

Ahman Green

Edgerrin James

Warrick Dunn

Frank Gore

Morris

Julius Jones

Trade away:

Jamal Lewis

Reggie Bush

Deuce McAllister

Dillon

Fred Taylor

Trade for later if you can:

Addai

Maroney

Jones-Drew

Alexander

Rudi Johnson is a stud. The guy doesn't stop. He is a workhorse back who nine times out of ten is going to give you a great game. Not to mention that no defense out there is going to be able to stack the box against him because of Palmer and the WR Triplets. Rudi Johnson will be the second best RB this year. Better then Alexander and LJ. Without Green at QB the LJ will be working against a stacked line and hasn't yet and probably won't be able to make things happen. As you can see I am not saying this because I have Rudi, although I would love to get my hands on him.

Agree totally.

In a PPR league, Bush is solid. In standard scoring, Deuce has been solid so far. But the Saints are 3-0. Of course the backs look decent so far. Neither appears likely to be a stud at their position by the end of the year. By the way, I'd put Westbrook as a happy to have. I thought I had included him on that list, but I must have missed him.

I have to diagree with LJ being a bust. After week 2 he led the league in yards from scrimmage. He just hasn't found the end zone yet. That all changes this week against the 49ers.

I've been trying to acquire him in all leagues. Guy is going to have outrageous numbers at the end of the year. :lmao: at "bust"

:goodposting: I had Rudi as RB4 on my rankings going into my draft. He went 9th overall. A total STEAL at that draft spot.

How do people feel about Tiki Barber? Is he slipping? I am considering making a trade for him. I just don't know what to make of this Giants team right now.

You wouldn't be happy to have Westbrook?!?!
If he stood a chance of making it healthy.. yes. But otherwise HELL NO. Sell High.
His knee swells. They ice it and rest it, he plays well.Repeat week 2Repeat week 3IMHO he is no more of an injury risk than anyone else. And he is very involved in what seems to be a VERY productive offense. I think Westbrook will have a very big year.

I really don't know what to make of the running backs right now. Westy and LT have clearly distinguished themselves. LJ and Rudi look really solid. Gore has potential, but durability issues. After that, its a total cluster####. I have no idea where to rank anybody.

People are back on the Portis bandwagon, but they won't be as soon as he starts facing NFL-caliber defenses again.

At least with Rudi, he's playing against solid to great defenses (Pittsburgh allows 3.2 ypc, KC 3.7 and Cleveland 4.0, to Houston's 4.6).

Similar to Tomlinson who has faced a 4.2 ypc and 4.6 ypc defense. He'll have a STIFF test up against a 1.8 ypc defense this week.

Not at all concerned about Portis' injury? Didn't he hurt it again against Houston. Sure he came back, but doesn't that scare you?
I heard something about that too. What happened to him? Would help in figuring where to rank him, from here on out.(I am not asking about the hit, I am asking for the injury details)

You seem confused.
How so?
Did you actually think Jurb was gonna have LJ in his top 4? Check the famous "Larry johnson is a bust" thread.
Maybe check 4 moths prior to that thread. I've never had him there.
Well with the reality that Alexander will miss 3-4 weeks of action now... thought you might have dialed back the "hatin" a little. Guess not. If you want to gamble on Portis and Westbrook staying healthy all season, which is what it will take for them to finish where you have them, go ahead... my money's on LJ being right up there with Tomlinson.

What are people's thoughts on FWP? He has been excellent with the exception of the Jag's shutdown. I think he has as good a shot as anybody to move into the top 5. He has proved he can rack up yards, proved he can handle 25+ carries, proved himself as a GL back (from what I can tell), is a proven big play threat, and has proved himself in big games. He's on a team that loves to run, had a D that can put them in position to run the clock. He's the guy to target, right?

Or do people see Chester Taylor as a better option? Gore is a sinking ship, right?

:lmao: "Hating" is putting LJ in top 10, not top 4. Whats even funnier is that in only a game in a half, coming off injury. Portis is outscoring LJ 39.4 to 31.5.

Gee I hope it's Fast Willie Parker, Chester Taylor, Reuben Droughns and Jerrious Norwood.

Please let it be them.

Why so high on Dunn? He'll get his yards but he still can't find the endzone.

Portis faced an NFL caliber d in week 1. Did pretty well in limited action. He's also been facing NFL caliber d's his entire career. LT has also been around long enough and has already proven that he can put up the numbers against good d's.

Top twelve defenses in bold. Bottom twelve defenses in red. It's not as easy as it might have looked preseason.(rankings in terms of rush YPG)

Gore has five more games against currently undefeated teams. Only three games (Oakland, Green Bay, Arizona) look like good rushing matchups.

Another good point. I'd point out that Green Bay is currently the #12 D in rush YPG though. KC (24th) is a better matchup.

In Detroit is not a great matchup either. I know Ahman Green just had a big game, but the Lions front 4 is actually pretty good. Its no cupcake schedule IMO.Also, I highlighted Gore as a sinking ship because:

- he has an extensive injury history

- its only week 3 and he has already missed 1/2 a game with an injury

- he has a bad case of fumbilitis- particularly the deadly goalline fumblitis

- Michael Robinson as GL back talk has begun
