What are people's thoughts on FWP? He has been excellent with the exception of the Jag's shutdown. I think he has as good a shot as anybody to move into the top 5. He has proved he can rack up yards, proved he can handle 25+ carries, proved himself as a GL back (from what I can tell), is a proven big play threat, and has proved himself in big games. He's on a team that loves to run, had a D that can put them in position to run the clock. He's the guy to target, right?

Or do people see Chester Taylor as a better option? Gore is a sinking ship, right?
Look at gores schedule and tell me he wont make alot of noise this season...1 average game against a superbowl contending team(eagles) and people are writing him off  Sun 9/10 at Arizona L 27-34

Sun 9/24 Philadelphia L 24-38

Sun 10/1 at Kansas City 1:00 pm

Sun 10/8 Oakland 4:05 pm

Sun 10/15 San Diego 4:15 pm

Gore has five more games against currently undefeated teams. Only three games (Oakland, Green Bay, Arizona) look like good rushing matchups.
Another good point. I'd point out that Green Bay is currently the #12 D in rush YPG though. KC (24th) is a better matchup.
In Detroit is not a great matchup either. I know Ahman Green just had a big game, but the Lions front 4 is actually pretty good. Its no cupcake schedule IMO.
Detroit gives up 2.8ypc avg on the ground. That's #2 overall, behind only Baltimore.Green Bay gives up 3.2ypc avg on the ground. That's #6.

KC gives up 3.7ypc avg on the ground. That's #14, still good for the top half of the league.

Some of these "easy" run D's...well, your RB is going to have to carry the ball a lot to hit 100yds.

Exactly, and all three teams have faced opponents who are not looking to pass a ton late in the game. They are solid against the run but are just forced to defend it a great deal.
