Alfred Morris ROS (1 Viewer)

What is the consensus on Morris ROS at this point?

With the Washington offense dysfunctional and Coach Shanahan looking to be on his way out, it's starting to appear possible that RGIII gets shut down for the season.

What does all of this do for Morris? Does he become the focal point of the offense? Do they move away from him without the read option in their back pocket? Do the holes close up without the threat of RGIII running?

His point totals the last 4 weeks in PPR: 9.3, 5.2, 14.3, 3.1. The 14.3 looks far worse if he doesn't have a couple of receptions (fluky with Morris, it seems).

Not if RG3 is QB, quite possibly the worst QB in the NFL right now.

Whats funny is he blames his poor throws on trust, not his complete lack of ability to throw the football.

Without legs this guy is QB 32 out of 32 and make Morris a flex play at best.

I circled his week 15 & 16 matchups when I traded for him a couple weeks back. I think the benching of RGIII can only be a good thing now. Hopefully the Skins roll out a more ball control offense and limit turnovers. Morris has been losing a lot of value due to the fact that the Skins are behind on the scoreboard early and often.

I'm playing him this week vs. ATL. He is a high end #2 these days.

The numbers of late don't really suggest the bolded, but I'll acknowledge that he's had some tough matchups the last few weeks.

The major question is identifying the causal influence. The tough matchups have coincided with Washington's epic collapse. They aren't independent events. How do we determine which is the cause for Morris' lack of production?

1) No secondary option to garcon with reed out (hankerson too)

2) No real fullback with young out

3) Rgiii inaccuracies lead to lack of sustained drives or good down and distance for morris on 2nd down (since he never plays on third downs)

4) ratface jr(mouseface?) playcalling. They figure that why would morris deserve a shot at the rushing title? Why would you EVER reward a guy who busts his ### and has been your best player? Because rgiii needs to get his and shake off the rust in week 13??

I am looking to roll with morris at atlanta. If they dont feed morris the ball then shanny and son really dont care about this kid.

I finally benched this guy and played MJD

I will do it again if I can

I think all WAS players should be benched

One of the real keys to Alf is Washington's ability to keep the game close. Once they get down they pull Morris for Helu. One thing that strikes me as strange is that they never throw the ball to Morris but on the rare occasion that they do he seems ok at it. He has been unstartable in ppr unless he has gotten a TD most weeks for me.

let me tell you a story brohans once upon a time the wife got on a saving kick and bought pamento loaf and i mean a lot of it and the stuff basically never goes bad it is unreal so for about two weeks i had pamento loaf on rye for lunch it was horrible i would open the door and throw the meat out back and just eat the rye bread and even though it still had a hint of pamento loaf on it that was still better then eating the real stuff but that was in april well here comes july and it is hot brohans and i mean hot and i had to go out back to put some scrap outside and bam there is that pile of pamento loaf stinking it up to high hell but not even a fly around it because insects know when something is wrong and they will not go near it so it was pretty smelly is what i am trying to say and i mean it was knock down bad at about ten feet and that my friends is what i think warshington is like for the rest of the year take that to the bank bromigos

This literally had me laughing on the throne at work man. Classic

The benching of RG3 would have to be a positive for Alf. The opposing defense now has to respect the pass, opening up the running lanes. I hope so anyway.

Not sure about that. Much of Morris' running lanes were due to RGIII's ability to run the football. With Cousins, then can just focus on Morris in running situations.

You can guarantee ATL will gear to stop Morris and make Cousins beat them down the field. If Reed is still out, then WAS is really short on weapons down the field......with Garcon their only true threat.

See ATL cant stop the run though, they are awful.

THe NYG geared up to stop Morris and they actually can stop the run. In the KC game, the chiefs just blew the skins doors off, so the running game was abandoned.

I dont think Atl is capable of blowing out Wash or actually stoping the run

I call BS.

No one in their right mind would buy that stuff let alone serve it to someone they cared about. Wait...your life insurance premiums paid up at the time, broseph?

what were A.M`s numbers last year with Cousins in at QB...if i remember they were pretty good
The only full game was last year @ Cleveland and Morris had 27 carries for 87 Yds and 2 TDs in a 38-21 win. Can't really speak to the times Cousins has played parts of a game.

Not much to go on there. Also not sure how much past performance can be used to predict Sunday. This team is in a death spiral and have a coach that won't be there soon and playing exit strategy games with the media. I'm leaning toward starting Tate over him.

So hard to know how the skins will play. I sure some players are loyal to RG3 and some hate him. Shanny and his kid who knows what kind of game they will call. I think you see more stacked lines, as not much for Cousins to throw to and he is not really a threat to run. If Cousins steps up to the plate he could open up the running lanes. Don't forget everyone has film on Cousins from last year, so I think they can game plan for him.

Morris might actually get some check down passed now. Rgiii became a first read or run qb cept he was not the fastest guy on the field this year and his accuracy was way off. They say that shanny lost this team but how many times did you hear players speaking out against rgiii? It is very possible this benching gets the redskins to play the last three games on a high note with morris as thr centerpiece of the team. This scenario is of course due to my startibg him this week.

Alfred Morris totaled 93 yards and two TDs in Cousins' 2012 start and has a cake Week 15 matchup.
