All-heart team (1 Viewer)

After the Rain

Watching that game made me frustrated cheering for the Broncos and Plummer. It's not that he didn't want to win but it's just that he didn't do the little things like use time wisely, continue to go for the jugular even down to the last second, etc. (my opnion anyway). It made me wonder, who are the guys who really have heart? Steve Smith seems to be such a guy, Curtis Martin as well, but who are some others? If this is a honda I apologize and would appreciate any help in finding similar discussions as I think this is a significant question in considering who will produce in real life and for fantasy purposes

Tomlinson and Polamalu are the only two off the top of my head that openly say that heart is the most important part of their game.

I must say, I disagree completely.

I think Plummer showed a lot in the 2nd half, running around and making plays despite heavy pressure and a defense that was exclusively playing against the pass.

He didn't have a great game, but I don't think he mailed it in at all. Plummer's problem has always been trying to do too much.

I agree. Plummer was fighting off the blitzes until the very end. Denver just got outplayed. I don't believe they lacked heart in the effort.

On the field: TOI'm serious. He gives it all out there, but just happens to ruin it during the week.

wayne cherbet, although he is now retiredI totally disagree with tomlinson. the guy plays hard and is a class act, but he has been blessed with once in a generation talent. He could sleep walk through the season and get 1300 yds rushing and 15 TD's

If you are a gifted athlete you can't also have heart? Supposedly this guys training routine would make most people keel over.

Polamalu was the first that came to mind. I also think Lynch plays with a lot of heart. And also, I totally disagree with the original poster about Plummer. He played his ### off in the second half. Made some plays avoiding the blitz that very QBs in the NFL could have made. He was under heavy pressure all day long. Trust me. It's not heart he lacks. It's that sometimes he lacks sound decision making.

you can have heart, and i think LT does. But when i think of the all heart team, i think of guys with less than stellar phsyical gifts that perform above their physical limitations. LT is obviously an elite player(my favorite non-jet) but when im picking guys for an all heart team, im looking for guys that get the NFL and suceed based mostly on their hard work and desire. Im not saying LT doesnt have these things, but he would still be pretty sucessful if he was a no-desire primadonna. (ala ricky williams) His phsyical gifts (speed, agility, acceleration) were god-given abilities. He had to develop them, but they were still there to start. some people dont have them, and make it regardless

Pretty much every true fullback, offensive guard, and gunner on special teams in the NFL.

Tom Brady and by a wide margin. He is as intense on the field as any player out there. And his heart is why he is clutch.

I don't agree with this. Having a lot of heart and being clutch are two entirely different things IMO. A guy could have a ton of heart but still crack under the pressure. Not saying Brady has no heart, just saying that I don't think it's why he's clutch.

Emmitt Smith......people always are down on him. He never had the greatest speed. He didn't have the flashy moves. He wasn't a big bruiser. But in the end he got the job done.
