Jene what are your thoughts on the STL linebacker situation? Leber is very low in the projections, does be hold some value if he is the 3 down WLB? Also what is the situation with the KC linebackers with Silver done for the year, especially in the nickel?

We'll have our usual discussion on the major stories of the week, but wanted to make this week's show interactive. What's vexing you?
Curious about George Wilson, I drafted him based on your recommendation, but I cannot find much on him anywhere else on the web. What makes FFG think he is going to be a viable #1? Thanks.

He's the starter a spot where Donte Whitner had himself some pretty nice numbers, #1 DB in most leagues. Not to mention last time he was a starter in 09' he made a bit of noise himself. Easily posting top DB1 numbers if you look at games he actually started (fill-in due to injury). I'm not sure why he didn't get a chance last year, but it was probably more just a case of being stuck behind a good veteran in Whitner.

Still waiting to see how the STL OLBs line up. Was surprised to hear that Poppinga was the presumed starter over Diles. I think Leber is the best all-around backer in the bunch, driving my speculation that he'll be the other every-down player. Want to see this week's game, though, to get a better feel for the starters and how much dime/hybrid nickel alignments Spagnoulo will use this year.

Agree with all of the above.

i don't believe i saw bradley again till the 2nd half. Lenon playing in all situations and he's wearing the green dot(when was gthe last time the dot wearer was rotated out?). Bradley will prolly rotate in but i no longer think it will be at the expense of Lenon(or washington for that matter).

Jene I think a breakdown discussion of the top corners for those leagues that have a separate corner and safety would be great. Maybe a breakdown of the top 10 CBs?
This is coming in the tier series, hopefully by the end of the week. There are lots and lots of guys worth considering (Haden, Fletcher, Clements, Griffin, Powers, Joseph, Peterson, McCourty, Flowers, Williams) among the other usual low-level CB1 suspects. The only guys I feel comfortable giving a mid-CB1 floor to are Woodson, Finnegan, Winfield and Tillman.

Atogwe has looked really good in the skins D, regardless the impact of Landry what can we expect productions similar to what he had with the rams?
It’ll be very similar to his early career with STL if Landry is healthy. He’ll be highly dependent on big plays. If he can run up those nice FF and INT numbers, he’s a solid DB1. If not, he’s an inconsistent DB2/DB3.
is there a better target between the houston safeties(manning/quin)?
Phillips will use them interchangeably, so it’ll be close. Hard to say which one will play force against the run more often, but it’s probably smartest to expect a slight edge to the SS (Quin). And he’s looked good so far. I’d say both have DB2 upside, with Quin a more even game log.

Is that really true about Curry. I have looked, but could not find confirmation on that anywhere.

It’s what I’ve been told by Danny Kelly and the folks at the Field Gulls blog, who’ve noted the change in some practice reps this week. We thought it was worth mentioning but it came out sounding more certain than we should’ve. I think it makes sense and we’ll see how it plays out this weekend.
i paid attention to Curry in this weeks game. he 'may' be playing a little WLB and is playing in nickel but one thing for sure......that guy is lost!!! hawks have completely gave up on using or trying to use this guy as a pass rusher and he looked lost in coverage. albeit several times he was either covering the slot Wr or sometimes the zone where the slot Wr cacated he still looked horrible. Hawthorne/chancellor and possibly trufant if he's fully healthy are the only IDP's to see here
