You ask me 'but what?', then comment on Teixeira being #2 in voting?Names get votes, not stats.

Anaheim is #10 in attendance and has arguably the biggest name in baseball. That combination, ####ty start or not, would normally net a superstar like Albert a lot more votes than 475K

I think this is spot on except for maybe catcher. As much as I hate to say it Pierzynski is more deserving than Mauer based on his power numbers. As a Tiger fan I really like Prince, but Konerko should win it.

If you are a fan of a team, why would you vote for good players from the other league?

I am a diehard Tiger fan. I will vote for the best players in the AL and the worst possible players in the NL. Why would anyone not do that?

Ranger fans sure are stuffing the box.
Cardinals fans look pretty bad too. Maybe even worse because their players are much less deserving, and, besides Molina, all are a lot higher than they should be.
I completely understand Beltran but Berkman?
And Jon Jay on the list as a leading vote-getter also shuked me.I felt less guilty about my Bryce Harper write-in once I saw Jay and Berkman (who both have less at bats than Harper) on the list.

Bryce Harper write in? Do you work for ESPN? Gimme a break.

Just a Nats fan. Purely a homer pick.

After years of hoping Larry Parrish gets one at-bat, or Buddy Bell gets one inning at third, or Charlie Hough might actually get to pitch, seeing that many Rangers in the running for the fan voting is surreal.

With only 7 home games left between now and the end of voting, I can see the numbers level off and others catching up. The home sellouts the last few weeks I'm sure really helped things.

I vote for the best players at each position so I can watch the very best players in baseball play in the same game.

Bandwagon Ranger fans are starting to piss me off. Beltre at 3B over Miggy.....stupid.
Really? Cabrera has slightly better offensive numbers than Beltere, but Beltre is a gold glove 3B. If I just need an at bat I'll take Cabrera over just about anyone in the AL or NL at any position. If I need someone to actually play 3B and give me 3+ AB's in a game I'll take Beltre.

Maybe they are considering their defensive ability as well?
Why don't you bother to look up the defensive stats this year between Beltre and Cabrera before typing this? :hophead:
Their defensive stats say the same thing. Beltre is having a poor year defensively by his standards, but is a 3-time golden glove winner and will likely revert to the mean. Cabrera has a negative UZR and will likely finish with a negative UZR. As poor as Beltre has been this year he is still outperforming Cabrera defensivley. There are worlds of difference between the 2 defensively. Cabrera fielding stats

Are we voting for the All Time Allstar Game here? I'm pretty sure it's for 2012. I could care less what Beltre did in the past.Beltre: 41 put outs. 58 assists. 5 errors. 6 DP's. .952 FP%

Miggy: 49 put outs. 92 assists. 7 errors. 9 DP's. .953 FP%

Don't be such a :homer:

Your post reads like a politicians. Miggy has "slightly" better offensive numbers. "Beltre is (was) a gold glove 3B." You play down Miggy's batting stats vs Beltre but then play up Beltre's past defensive numbers. We're talking about this year and Miggy's defense has been pretty good actually. Give him a little credit.

If we are going to complain about Beltre over Miggy, shouldn't we be just as pissed about Fielder over Konerko?

0.365/0.447/0.614 12 homers vs. 0.316/0.386/0.509 10 homers

Not to mention that Konerko's team is in first place and 5 games in front of Fielder's?
