"Always Start Your Studs"
I said that before the season, and I've stuck to my plan. I think its called "putting your money where her mouth is" Is that the expression?"Always Start Your Studs"
I'm right with you GB. I'm losing again this week for starting Payton Manning over Kyle Orton.I'm not sure who my studs are anymore.LT or Matt Forte?TO or Brandon Marshall?Randy Moss or DeSean Jackson?Antonio Gates or Owen Daniels?
This is the thing.......who you think your STUD is at draft time doesn't necessarily mean they're your STUD mid season and beyond.I'm not sure who my studs are anymore.LT or Matt Forte?TO or Brandon Marshall?Randy Moss or DeSean Jackson?Antonio Gates or Owen Daniels?
A tired, tired cliche which seems more like a mantra used as an excuse for losing ("Yea I lost because LenDale went off on my bench while LT2 stunk it up again... BUT, you always start your studs! ) than a recipe/game plan for success."Always Start Your Studs"
Agreed.To/Wayne/Cotchery total 5 catches for 55 yds?... *sigh* Anyhow, I usually stick to this theory, and am 4-3, 5-2, 6-1, 6-1I'm not sure who my studs are anymore.LT or Matt Forte?TO or Brandon Marshall?Randy Moss or DeSean Jackson?Antonio Gates or Owen Daniels?
This has always been the crux of the question. Two levels of stud1) True stud- a guy who starts every week, every team, against every match-up. Only a handful at any position throughout the league.2) "your" studs- Guys who are clearly better than any other option on your team. Between injury and surprise performances (especially negative), an owner winds up with 3 WRs who start every week because even against good match-up the back-ups still not worth the risks. Happens to everyone sometimes, no matter how much you trade, work the waiver wire, etc. Overall, this year sems to be below average for the first type of player, so it makes those roster decisions much tougher.I'm not sure who my studs are anymore.LT or Matt Forte?TO or Brandon Marshall?Randy Moss or DeSean Jackson?Antonio Gates or Owen Daniels?
Hopefully you have that figured out by week 7.Who would have won most weeks this season, the team with LT, TO, Moss, and Gates or the team with Forte, Marshall, Jackson, and Daniels? Answer that question, and you will be on your way to figuring out who your studs are. Never bench Owen Daniels, Brandon Marshall, or Matt Forte. DeSean Jackson is debatable.I'm not sure who my studs are anymore.LT or Matt Forte?TO or Brandon Marshall?Randy Moss or DeSean Jackson?Antonio Gates or Owen Daniels?
5-2 ain't badWorking for meCurrently 5-1if Moss and NE D get me 19 or more6-1
I benched Randy Moss.....Again!
I completely concur with this.I can't remember when exactly, it was last year or year before last... my gut told me to bench LT and start Kevin Jones. The matchups were in favour of this. I asked on another forum if anyone agreed and I was flamed to death. Of course, KJ had over 100 yds and TD while LT came up single digits on my sheet.I swore from that moment on I would always trust my gut after research. How about another cliche - "always trust your gut"I had doubts about Reggie Bush this week so I benched him. 0.5 ppr league. Could it have burned me? Sure. I liked Mewelde's chances this week against a crappy team so I rode him. Worked out pretty good! Once you study up on the teams involved, go with your instincts.
