I'm really glad Harry is around. It's a welcome change from the last few seasons. If only they'd made Jimmy a judge too.

i'm not going to cover up for the lack of talent this year, but the only excuse i can think of is the theatre sound, i believe the producers don't realize there's a problem, i'm often hearing, "out of tune, pitchy, not in sinc with band, take earpiece out"... even sounds bad when Seacrest & judges are talking, meh, probably just me

I liked Harry at first but lately he's getting annoying to me. He needs to stop flirting with Keith for one thing, it's funny for a time but too much is just creepy. He doesn't mind shooting down a performance, that's for sure. But last night with Caleb, Harry said he already knew how he was going to enjoy Caleb's performance before he even stepped on stage. Ok, so is that a bad thing?

Harry told Caleb that his voice was good and it is obvious he is a rock and roll singer. Then he asked him how he was going to transform the rock and roll music industry. It's almost as if "we have enough rock singers, how are you going to raise the bar? Otherwise why are you here?"

Caleb is supposed to carry rock to another level... like Elvis or the Beatles? Caleb might be thinking this morning that he needs to change his style or something. I hope he doesn't change a thing, although, I think it would be a good idea to sing a rock ballad next week.

I get what you're saying in response to Harry's wording there, but what I think he really meant is that Caleb has proven to be a competent leader of a rock cover band but needs to show some more originality or bring something different to the table to distinguish himself as having potential to be a rock star on his own rather than just a future lead singer of a cover band. I believe the latter is what he is, which is fine but shouldn't win Idol.

 
:lmao: at Harry having to defend himself for being critical as a judge. And for claiming this is the most talented group since season 1.

 
The only girl with a shot IMO is Malaya. I'd mix her into the top 4 guys somewhere.

The rocker and white country guy are the best.

The young dude will get lots of votes.

Too close to call for my favorite now.

Who should never have made the live show? MK good grief, just BAD

 
America got it wrong tonight. MK is HORRIBLE and I mean that in the nicest way possible. Of the bottom three tonight, how she remained is beyond me unless people are voting based on something other than talent. As for Majesty, the first half of her song was spectacular. Then cue trainwreck. She is good though. Outside of MK the remaining contestants all have talent. Not sure I am a huge fan of the country guy with marble mouth but if they subtitle his lyrics I can put up with him.

She sucks badly. It's a sham she was put on this show ahead of some others who were far more talented and far more deserving.

Producers obviously run this show……not the judges. "Hey let's put on the girl who dresses like a boy and get that "born this way" PC feeling on the show!" "yeah that's brilliant"!

America has some serious PC issues these days…..it's blatant and obvious. If she was a great singer and killing it (e.g Adam Lambert) who would care?

But she sucks……and I feel it's a PC BS producers choice to have her on this show. It's a shame. It should be about talent…..not appearence.

I feel bad for MK……she's being exploited……does she even realize it?

Anyway…..I am keeping it real on that issue.

I think she's brilliant. K. D. Lang meets Eminem meets Justin Bieber. Good sleeper pick to win the whole thing IMO.

 
MK is horrible and will most-likely be the next to go. She had one great performance in Hollywood, but hasn't been impressive since. She also seems soulless. Her eyes are dead inside. Strange chick.

Majesty is the best female and Caleb is the best male.

She does have a K.D. Lang sensibility in there somewhere, I agree. Not nearly as good, of course, but there are glimpses of ability there. Seeing K.D. Lang in concert was a sublime experience. She's amazing.

With that I think KD Lang sucks too.

By the way……..big time props to Caleb who absolutely slayed Working Man from Rush.

So happy a Rush tune finally found it's way onto Idol……and Caleb in his post performance interviews etc professed his love for Rush as his favorite band.

GO CALEB!!!!!!!!!

Guy is clearly the powerhouse singer on this show. I really hope a great band can be put around him with some killer songwriting. That was the hope I had for Adam Lambert…..who instead just became even a bigger flame and ruined whatever shot he had at rock god stardom.

What a waste of insane rock vocal talent Lambert turned out to be. Bad just really bad career decisions IMO. He could have struck while the iron was hot…..instead he needed to show the world what we all already knew……yeah your gay…..we get it…now freaking sing some rock n roll and entertain us and stop dressing up like a girl.

Oh wait….he thought that was entertaining…….poor schmuck.

Well at least he will be in a great band.......but I thought he had a great shot at his own stardom fronting his own band.......never happened.

He will slay Queens stuff but we already knew that he can do that.

 
Yup, Sam Woolf sucks. Out of his league. OK singer but zero charisma/stage presence. I hope he gets booted soon.

Yep, and the judges really took it easy on him. He was awful. These next few weeks are going to separate the singers who can excel outside of their comfort zones from the one-trick ponies. Sam probably still makes the top 5 because of the young girls voting, but by then it will be clear he's outclassed. I still root for the kid because of his story and he does have a great voice. He just isn't ready for prime time.

Yep, Caleb, CJ and Alex are starting to separate from the pack now. I think they are the only ones who haven't had a bad performance yet.

 
And I was kidding about MK last week, she was absolutely horrible and should've gone home. She saved herself tonight with her best performance by far.

And it pales in comparison to most of the performances tonight. I would say only Sam and the pink hair chick were worse than mk tonight.

 
Actually, I agreed with the judges that across the board the performances were better. Sam was the worst and he wasn't horrible. Just young and boring. The teeny bopper vote will keep him around much longer than he deserves, so there's going to be some upsets the next few weeks.

Skyfall was awesome. Going into the show I predicted he'd roll out Live and Let Die to stick to his rocker roots - but Skyfall was brilliant and nicely done.

That was an amazing performance by Caleb!!! The best of the night.

 
So bad this year, can't even watch. The talent xfactor this year was off the charts in comparison. These kids just aren't very good as a group. Wolf is talented but boring.

 
First year in a while I'm giving it up. They're running out of talent. HCJ is a great judge and addition.

 
I just do not get it. Ben is a much better singer then MK, even her "best performance of the competition" wasn't very good at all. Sam choose the wrong Beattles song, and it almost cost him. The teenage vote is only going to carry him so far, he needs a really good performance in the next two weeks or he'll be lucky to make it into the top 7.

Caleb, CJ and Jena were all fantastic. Wasn't very impressed with Malaya or whatever the Tuba chick's name is. Seemed very shouty too me.

I figured the bottom 3 would be MK, Jessica, Malaya with MK going home. Didn't surprise me that Sam made the bottom 3 though, was very surprised to see Ben in the bottom 3, and shocked he went home at this stage. Although, his song for the save wasn't very good.

 
I didn't see his save song, but in past weeks I've noticed that the judges "deliberate" as soon as the song starts, not after, so it seems to be for show at this point.Maybe that will change now that they are getting toward real save territory.

Watching it again, it was just meh. It seemed he was too emotional, which didn't translate well into his singing, which is completely understandable given the situation.

 
After last night I thought Jessica, Sam and Ben earned bottom 3 with Sam being the most deserving to go....once again, though, America got it wrong and are basing their votes on something other than ability. Majesty had no business being in the bottom 3.

MK actually impressed me for the first time with her performance. I still think she is less talented than the remaining performers, but she did well last night.

Caleb is incredible. Jena was also very powerful in her performance. CJ is pretty cool as well.

Yeah, the sing for your life is silly. The judges know whether or not they're saving someone.

Just cut to commercial to give the judges time to talk.

 
Figured they did the first 3 guys ( CJ, Caleb, Dexter) as an easy way to clear space for HCJ performance. They needed the whole stage for that!
