Father God, we bless You for building Your church. Unless You build it, we build in vain! We appreciate that You have given : GIFTS to the church: some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, to shepherd and guide and instruct. We pray today for those You have called, to convert those who serve but are not called, and to remove the false shepherds who are hurting Your Kingdom.
We pray for the called ones: May it be known that “The Spirit of the LORD is upon them, Because You have anointed them to preach the gospel to the poor; sent them to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. May they "shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and lead many to righteousness, shining like the stars forever and ever." Holy Spirit, help them to "keep and follow the pattern of sound teaching (doctrine) which they have heard from You, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus" and to be "steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that their labor is not in vain in the Lord." We pray that that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of their understanding being enlightened; that they may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward them"
We pray for those who are serving without a calling. We pray that the scriptures they are instructed to recite would be like "sharp, two-edged swords that will pierce even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Holy Spirit, convict and enlighten them so that they will fall to their knees and acknowledge that Jesus is Lord.
For those who are deliberately damaging Your Kingdom and are enemies of the cross of our Lord, we pray that You would expose the evil. Show them the error of their ways and bring them into Your Kingdom, but until then, we remember that You said, " The LORD will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.". Remove them from positions of influence.
May there be an Awakening across our Land, Your Word having free course. How we love and trust Your Word to do a mighty work in our people and cleanse us from unrighteousness so that You can bless us. Praying in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank You. Amen.
