Anarchy League 4 Draft Order & Smack Talk (2 Viewers)

Nice, was gone for the weekend, and first PM I get is on the 3/4 turn! Yipes guys. David PM'd me the league link, but didn't catch it at all until now.Up to you guys? Want me to fire off all the picks and roll on? Or find a replacement?ED: going to look for the IP addies for the MFL sites. Anyone got it handy. MFL @#$-blocked at work.
If you can make it in there, go for it. If you are a RB-RB type of guy, your team looks to be in fine shape with Barber and LJ.

Yeah, I've got no room to complain. In there now. Did we halt the live draft? Or can I just not see the live draft room? Going to just have to go off the available players and put in my order. Will take a few minutes.

I should have PM'd you AFTER I made my two picks. I was salivating at the prospect of Boldin slipping down to me. Oh well. Easy come, easy go, I guess.I am sure that you have found it by now, but you need to click on Draft Report under Draft Status to see the results of the draft thus far.

Heh. Yeah, not sure why I didn't get a PM or something after rounds 1/2 were going off. Sounds like it happened VERY fast though. Like I said, I was at the in-laws all weekend. David's PM came in right after I took off from work, and you guys fired away. Could have made picks on the iPhone, but wasn't going out of the way to check into FBG website all weekend. First PM I got that draft was going was this morning at 9:30am.

Sorry to hold things up, rolling now. BTW, still got no link for a draft report (not a total MFL noob either, I just don't think it populates some of the list selections when you're through the direct IP addy...only thing that makes sense.) It won't even populate the TMQB lists, I have to alhpa and go find team names atm. Bleh.

OK, found it. Little different place I guess. But "League->Draft" is the draft report. Anyway, still odd that I can't add TMQB's to my Draft List. Going to see if I can at least get them added to my draft queue. Should be rolling now. And many thanks to Bia if he did indeed draft for me in 1/2. Thanks Bia.

Nope that was the draft robot AKA David Yudkin. :o Yeah you got a real nice start.. thats why I wouldn't have minded trying to wreck things with follow up picks adding that foundation.

Glad to see everyone is now on board and aware that this thing has kicked off. Maybe we can do some catching up now.

Yeah, just that when I sort by TMQB it comes up empty. So, have to alpha order them all and just go find the TMQB's. I'm assuming everyone see's that? Who knows, it works out fine. Where are the other Anarchy Leagues at? we've making the 5/6 turn now, how far did I drag us behind??

Anarchy 1, which kicked off a couple of days ahead of this one, is at the 5/6 turn, too. We're fine.

I wish I had taken more time. :goodposting: I saw my turn was coming up and put the pre-draft picks in. I accidentally put in the San Diego D instead of team QB. Oh well.

Wondered about that. If you hit it quick might be able to sub that pick. I seriously doubt that the 2 or 3 others around the turn here wanted in on that Charger DST sweet sweet action. ?? Or am I out of line suggesting it?

I fixed that, so quit your crying.

 I will try to compose myself. Thanks.

I am off to work and won't be back until about 7PM CT. No access at work. doubt that it makes it back to me anyway but just in case, I'll be back later.

Will try to keep this updated, and yes the formatting will probably suck...cry more noobs!!

Yeah, in retrospec I definitely don't think I would have gone RB/RB in this format. But, I'm not horrible for a TPL as long as I manage to scrap together SOME amount of production from the TE spot I should be competitive.

I like the following teams:

coordinator

Itchy (if he can scrap together some QB production)

Kruppe

StrinkinRef

val

What's the policy on the timer? Blue's been on timer since about 9:30am ET.

4 hour timer plus a few minutes until the MFL system refreshes. They run timed out picks at every quarter hour. Blue has been on the clock since 9:53, meaning he will time out at 2:00.

The draft is running on CT, actually. (Edit, nevermind, that was just the default settings)

This could be a good year for stud RBs though, considering last season was a down year. I just liked the WR value on the board at my picks more than the RBs. This is definitely an interesting format and there doesn't really seem to be one bonafide strategy.

As always...thanks for the clarification, David. Hopefully Blu will pop over and get the pick squared away.

IIRC, this is the 4th year of these leagues, and a lot of strategies have been implemented to either win or stay competitive. Given the team drafting component (at QB and DEF), that means 224 actual players have to be picked at RB, WR, TE, and PK. Most fantasy leagues to not come close to drafting that many players from those 4 positions.People also migrate to players that may be on a worthy playoff team, and hitting on those guys (like NYG players last year) could mean a lot of bonus points. The Giants TMQB earned an extra 70 playoff points last year.I will dole out free advice here . . . you don't want to be on the bottom side of a late kicker run. Some teams are still auditioning kickers, and picking the wrong one can get you a year full of zeroes from a kicking spot. It's not like a regular league where there are 20 kickers left on the waiver wire. Also be mindful that there are exact roster requirements, so please do not pick 3 team QBs, 7 WRs, etc. as those extra picks will have to get dumped back into the player pool.

Yeah, I saw that. Someone already has 4 RB's, can't remember if that was the limit but it's close. Now that you mention it, I'm going to go look up the limits just for my own edification....

Thanks! I have to say that you are right about my team. I am going to need to be right with my QBs, otherwise I am cooked. Once I saw the 16th spot, I knew that I would have to do this a bit unconventionally. I am traditionally a RB-RB type of guy, so it is going to be strange to see a bunch of scrubs at that position at the end. I looked at last years drafts to try to determine how many of each position would be taken for each round and mapped out a plan based upon the value of that slot. (for instance, going into the 5/6 turn, I thought I would be looking at QB12, RB 29, WR 26 & TE 15. Last year these positions scored 299, 125, 210, & 158 points respectively). I then tried to play with those position values to come up with a couple of combinations that produced the highest value. From my slot, it seemed that I needed to come out of the first 6 rounds with at least 3 WR and 2 TE. The success of my plan will rely on me beating the position values, especially the QB position. As for myself, I really like what Valhallen has done. He has a ton of receptions sitting there. I also like Broadway G & RJS113.(Edited to add that at the 5/6 turn I was looking at QB15, RB29, WR25 & TE13 - I am a bit surprised at how well things are following the script. It makes me wonder if I should have been concentrating on player draft slot values rather than actual players all of these years)

I'll save everybody the challenge of trying to figure out who's going to win: the teams that stay the healthiest.

That's the problem with this type of league if you get guys that get hurt early and miss a ton of time, you are doomed.

Thanks man. It appears we both jumped on WRs, as did Broadway. So as Yudkin said, it will probably come down to staying healthy. I'm already taking a hit with Marshall's suspension, but I think he'll still put up nice numbers and possibly make the post-season.I think it's going to get pretty tricky from here on out. We'll have defense and kickers runs soon and there's no telling where the value will start popping up.

That hissing sound is the quick release of all the "fun" factor of this league. Thanks alot, David! :spoilsport: :pfffft:

 Even so, it wont stop me from trying to figure out where I stand. If my predictions arent right, I will just say that I would have been right if not for all the injuries. Either way, it works out pretty well for my self esteem.

The second half of the draft will be an exercise in pulling rabbits out of a hat. IIRC, last year I lucked out in getting Crayton in the 12th and Kenny Watson in the 18th.In one of the leagues I was doomed when I ended up with Heap, Glenn, Bruce, and Shockey. Even good teams will suffer with long term injuries.

quick question.....val has me confused...so is the draft running on ET zoneor CT...when I updated my settings I put MT time zone so now all picks are showing MT.....getting ready to go to bed but not sure if I will get clocked out if picks go through pretty soon and then prior to me getting to work in the morning.....should I switch it back to ET on my settings to avoid confusion if that is what it is running on...?.....sorry if this is stupid, but slightly confused and I prefer not to pre-pick.....

and it is shut down from 12 to 8 EST right?

I added a draft status section to the top of the league web site. It will indicate who is on the clock and how much time is left on the timer . . . no matter what the time zone is.

It looks like my plan to wait until the 7-8 turn to get my TMQBs has left the cupboard pretty bare. Talk about a wasteland. Yikes!

It looks like it is time for Plan B (blind luck).

I hear you. I regret not looking at last years drafts before we started. Although I was encouraged when I read in the Anarchy 2 thread that last years winner had BAL and MIN or something. I think the key to winning will be a combination of hitting on some of your sleeper picks and avoiding injuries.

This is exactly what I did. Last year saw only about 15 or 16 QBs taken in the first 7 rounds. I think I took QB 26 at the 7/8 turn this year. The rest of them are all worth about 200 points. There should be value elsewhere. It is just a matter of finding it first.Fantasy football/rooting interest is a funny thing. Now that SF is my TMQB, I find myself being more of a believer in the Martz effect than I did just a couple of days ago.

I thought about the 49ers, but it felt like a reach at the 6/7 turn. They're definitely a wild card and the best you could get with what was left after that QB run. I think we're all having to take hits at certain positions to be strong in others.

Hey David, what do we do if there's a player not listed by MFL for this draft? Are we allowing substitute picks? Something along those lines? Or are we just out of luck?

Hey David, what do we do if there's a player not listed by MFL for this draft? Are we allowing substitute picks? Something along those lines? Or are we just out of luck?
If you are absolutely SURE that the player is not listed on THIS LIST and has not already been drafted by another team, then pick a bogus player as a place filler and BE SURE to add in the comment box when you pick which player you really want. For example, I'm pretty sure no one is going to draft someone like Curtis Martin or Priest Holmes, so pick them and say in the comment box something like "actual pick should be WR Arnold Abraham SDC."

MFL may add that play into the database and I can swap it once they add him. If not, when we tranfer the rosters to the to be announced hosting site for the league, we will add him in at that time.

Will do. I know for sure that even searching all players at the position alphabetically the guy is not listed. I'll check your link/list when I get home (again, blocked here at work). Thanks David.

On Thursday I really thought we had a chance to wrap this thing up by the end of the weekend.

wrong

I will be without steady internet access from next Wednesday through the following weekend. Hopefully we finish by then

hey David, looks like RJS is going on day 3 w/o even checking in....how about you make his picks here atthe turn and we can see if we get a few more in tonight......

looks like he needs a QB, PK's, and D's...shouldn't be to hard to pick for him here......

hsn't been around for 3 dyas not sure he would complain........

Yeah, we already waited 8 hours for his last two missed picks and coming up on another 4 hours for this one.

Road Warriors, he didn't select a 3rd defense.. that's Miami QB.
