So picking at 1.09 I did not have a lot of options. I always draft RB, RB, and then best player. Colt's QB was gone, and not a big fan of the RB's left. So I went with the best WR. I was torn between Johnson, and Smith. Went with Smith since he produces over 40% of Carolina's points.

Took Bush at 1.15. It's probably too early but there's no way he'd make it to my third round pick and I didn't want to risk raskell grabbing him.

I planned on going RB/WR, but with Bush I'm thinking my best move might be another RB. Decisions....decisions.

No worries here. I was going WR/WR all the way. I just don't think there was any value left at RB.

I feel fortunate to get Owens at the spot I got him. I had him and Fitz as a toss up and am glad to get one of them.As an addendum.... Please post some comments on your picks. This is not only a competitive league, but we should be providing value to other FBGer's who have upcoming drafts and these comments are a way to reveal some thought processes or valuation knowledge that may be useful to others.

If someone times out and misses a pick, I will substitute the highest remaining undrafted player per ADP data on the FBG front page. For Secreat Agent, that meant getting Domanick Davis.

If anyone just barely misses making their pick, they can contact me before I insert a replacement and I will insert that player instead.

I should not have to make any replacement picks at all . . .

I did not time out, you screwed up genius.

:coffee:

When I saw Steve Smith taken in the first, it gave me a little hope that Gates might drop to me. When he got picked it became a tossup at 1.11 between Ronnie Brown and Rudi Johnson. Rudi can handle 350+carries, he finished in the top 8 in the last 2 years with this scoring system, and being unsure if Brown can handle 300+ carries. I wanted a safe, reliable pick in the 1st.

In the second it was either Harrison or Boldin. Doubts about the #2QB in Arizona when Warner goes down made me choose Harrison. Then it's reported that Leinart signed.

Wanted a WR in the 3rd, and Driver was an easy pick.

Looking at Mason and Rod Smith in the 4th. The decision was made for me as Mason went a couple picks before mine.

The WR's are 30+, but have missed a total of 3 games in the last 4 years, and have been pretty consistent.

I think I have a decent little team so far. :banned:

Well, picking 16th is proving to be a little tougher than I thought. I did grab my 2 stud WR's with the first 2 picks but I was really worried what RB's would be left coming back. I'm kind of hanging my hat on Dillon, which in and of itself, is scary but everything coming out of NE is pointing to the fact that he's healthy. He did look nice and strong in the 1st preseason game. My #2 is Frank Gore who I think has a lot of potential and was, Imo, the best back left. Now it gets interesting.

I'm with Raskell...the 15th spot is a #####. I've decided the only way I'm going to have a shot at this league is to take major chances and try to hit on some of these guys who are banged up in the preseason.

So, in the third and fourth rounds, I took Domanick Davis (who will be an absolute steal if healthy) and my first TE, Alge Crumpler.

My roster as of now is Reggie Bush, Westbrook, Davis, and Crumpler. Boom or bust in my opinion.

Picking where I am, I went with the two best WR's available. Since it's a long season and playoff weeks count, I decided to gamble in this league. I took two high scoring Qb"s that should be in the playoffs, to lessen the blow of the crap RB's that I will have. Now I will go for players that are high risk/high reward. I like the D. Davis pick but did not have the balls to go for it myself.

5.16 Had to take a QB as the quality was getting down there. I wanted ATL QB but that got autopicked so KC was the logical choice as they will probably go to the playoffs.

6.1 Again, TE was starting to get thin and I don't think Wiggins gets enough love. With Robinson probably gone, I think Jermaine gets a lot of looks. He has led the team in receptions in one of the past years. Definitely a question mark if the Vikes get to the playoffs but I think he's a lot more durable than Dallas Clark.

TJ Duckett...where there is smoke there is fire. Every web site has this guy going to NY. I had to take him at this point, if he gets traded, he would of not been there on my turn. I love gambling.....

hey seahawk, where in OR do you live? I just moved to Estacada in May. where is the best place to watch games in the city?

7.16 to 8.01 This wasn't planned but I ended up going with a 1-2 punch with Michael Clayton and Simms. My thinking was that I needed another decent WR and if Clayton is back and healthy he could fit that mold very well. I then figured I needed my #2 QB and there just weren't that many left, especially on Playoff caliber teams so insert Simms. IMO he could light it up this year.

I'm going to give SAMM Betts only because he timed out by literally like 3 minutes.

It doesn't look like jevy had anyone else in his predraft list, so we're going to have to let him have a replacement pick.

Damn David, I was going to take Barlow next. Even before the Jets deal
Herein lies the problem when things don't work out right . . .SAMM timed out by three minutes and wanted Betts. However, I wasn't on-lin when that happened. Jevy had already picked Betts and needed a replacement pick. Jevy, not knowing that he was even on the clock because he already MADE his pick, did nothing wrong and timed out. Everyone else kept on picking. So . . . should Jevy be penalized for not making another pick when he wasn't expecting to have to make one? Since he wanted a RB and there are not many left, it seems reasonable that he would have wanted Barlow instead, and he almost CERTAINLY would have wanted Barlow once the news of the trade hit. There's a decent chance that you would have missed out on Barlow anyway.

You want a  ? I've predrafted enough guys for 9 and 10, yet SAMM ####s up the draft yet again by dogging it.

Ya, I got lucky with Barlow going to NYJ. Big f'n deal.

Stop kissing SAMM's ###. Stick him with #### the next time.

In defense of SAMM, the issue near the beginning of the draft was not his fault no more than you timing out after losing Betts was this time around. For all I know Barlow could have been on your predraft list, but your predraft list got wiped out when I moved Betts.SAMM PMd and emailed me 2-3 minutes from timing out and had I been on-line (which I usually am) there would not have been a problem at all. Two hours late and he'd have gotten whatever I gave him. Two minutes is another story entirely.

Was not my intention to start a fight..... guess I used the wrong smiley......how about this one :banned:
I think we're all good either way. There's nothing to say Barlow is the clear starter in NY (Martin, Blaylock, Houston, and Washington all in the mix). And it's BARLOW we're talking about. I'm not sure his value goes up going to the Jets. Gore should be the clear winner here.

I've got an idea....

Instead of using 3hr and 58min for your pick, either pre draft or check in more than once a day

That statement is a generality and is, in no way, singling out SAMM :bye:

 You can keep it. You'll need it the next time you threaten to leave the league because you don't get your way.
