LOL. So Im going to Yellowstone with the family. Im bringing my 12 gauge with slugs while going into the wilderness. I certainly am bringing my bear spray but find it funny that per the national site I should not use it for self-defense against a bear. LOL too funny. I'll just let them eat the wife and kids first.

But seriously... You should probably let the bear eat your wife first. She'll take longer to finish and you should be able to outrun your kid.

 
I think the point of the law allowing guns in the park is to provide a loophole for people that happen to be passing through with guns. You are not allowed to shoot a gun in the park, so why would you think its OK to use a gun for self protection? Unless you plan to pistol whip a bear, the gun is essentially illegal since it cant be shot. Im not saying you shouldnt use it, should the need arise, but dont be surprised when you are prosecuted either.
