Andre Brown Fractured Leg (1 Viewer)

Andre Brown fractured the same leg he broke last year. He says it is a small break but who knows how much time he'll miss.

Not sure Torrain even?

One thing about Brown, i am pretty sure this injury finishes him off in fantasy world.

Who steps in to #2. Probably not Cox...... Da'Rel Scott ?
Torain. The #3 RB doesn't get many touches for the Giants, about 20 a season. Cox has won the KR job so he'll be the 3rd active RB. Giants have other options to plug in at RB if Wilson and Torain need a rest like Hynoski or Pascoe if they choose not to give Cox some carries.

Can't rule out them signing a vet. though.

Michael cox had the best camp of the three and according to his page on fbg is pushing Scott for the spot.

This guy has a crazy injury history and a crazy healing history. I actually could see him back in 3-4 weeks. Still a cut for me in redraft.

My guess is that Wilson takes the opportunity and literally runs with it; with that said, reports are the break is not that bad, and he could be back in a month or so. I can see the case of dropping him in redraft, but I would make sure it is a strategic drop, as you probably drafted him in the RB35-40 spot just a week or so ago.

...and yes, he is always hurt. Was that way at NC State and nothing has changed.

I would say safe to drop - for now. But I would try to make a preemptive move to stash him away once we hear he is practicing again.

Anyone holding?

Spent a mid round pick on him, and not sure there's any flyers out there.

I would think the only way he holds value is if he has a quicker than expected return and Wilson struggles while he's gone.

Depends on the timetable for his healing. The Giants have a week 9 bye, it wouldn't be a shock if they plan on a week 10 return so he can heal and get back into game condition so he doesn't have some kind of leg strain or pull.

If that's the timetable he'll go on the PUP

According to pro football talk.

"Andre Brown calls broken leg "a tiny little crack," says he won't miss much time"

What that means for fantasy owners? I'm not sure. But I'm at least awaiting a little bit more info before completely jumping ship.

I think he goes on PUP. That would give him 7 weeks of healing and opens up a roster spot.

I don't think he's eligible for PUP. He'd have to go onto IR designated to return.

I am not familiar with all the PUP rules. What makes him ineligible?

I'm in the same boat after drafting last week and picking Andre Brown at the end of the 9th round. I don't know what the shark move is. Waiting for a definitive time table (i.e. hoping for a quick return of 4-6 weeks) may be prudent, because he will have value if he can return and spell Wilson in that time frame, but to me, it looks more like it may be much longer (6 to 8+ weeks) before he returns AND becomes fantasy-relevant and productive. In which case, I would rather fill that spot with a FA flyer still available like J.Rodgers, Helu, or Julius Thomas which may payoff during that time frame. Even with a bit of optimism, Andre Brown seems to have too many question marks to still have much value on my roster pre-week 1.

Made Wilson my RB2 in the 3rd round. Grabbed Brown as the handcuff in the 16th. He's going to come back eventually. I think all Wilson owners should do so if they have the bench room in redraft. Why wait to find out Wilson isn't the answer and someone else snatches Brown off of the WW before you weeks from now.

Even if Brown comes back in a few weeks, who is to say that he won't be injured again? I mean really, the presumption should be that he WILL be injured again. His injury track record is the most consistent aspect of his past performance.

Word from beat writers is the Giants will bring in several RBs for looks Tuesday. Browns injury history and age, I don't see the Giants releasing him, but I doubt he's re-signed after this season.

nailed it. (easy one, nothing classier than giving oneself props)

  • Can anyone cofirm or deny that Brown has been put on the short term IR? I'm seeing conflicting reports, thinking about dumping him and grabbing Stephan Taylor for the heck of it...

MFL has removed the IR designation for some reason today, after giving it to him yesterday? I checked the Giants website and they still have him placed on IR/designated to return on their site.

I dumped him and grabbed Roy Helu for the heck of it. I figure by week 8 I will be able to grab a RB off waivers who will be at least as impactful as Brown. And who knows, Helu could end up being huge handcuff trade bait. Also, Morris is one twisted ankle away from a huge coming out party for him...

Taking a flyer on Scott.

Almost certainly a waste of time, but if Wilson's back-up was (before injury) worth a top 110 pick or so, it should be worth something now. Wilson's had 3 NFL games with (barely) double-digit carries.
