Andre Caldwell (1 Viewer)

Out of Mind
I thought he looked pretty good out there last Sunday. He was targeted 8 times and had 6 catches for 54 yards. Most of his catches came in the second half after Coles was dropping everything the first half. By the looks of the Bengals they will be airing it out this year. My main concern is he might not get enough playing time if Coles gets his act together. Caldwell obviously looked much better than Coles on Sunday though. I don't know much background on this guy but he might be a decent flex guy for later in the season, certainly if someone gets hurt.

He's more interesting as a dynasty prospect. I think he can be the WR2 there in the near future.

Another interesting prospect is he was in for 48% of the plays, where Chris Henry was in for 33%.

Chris Henry is not a good route runner. His only real value is on streaks, deep posts, and fades. Caldwell is much quicker. He's better suited to the short and intermediate game than Henry.

Love him in dynasty, could be a starter as soon as next season. Not sure about redraft. If he continues to outplay Coles he could become a reliable #3 type, but I wouldn't trust it yet.

I've said this a few times on this board, but Caldwell could be last year's Steve Breaston. Cincinnatti is kicking themselves right now for paying top dollar for Coles. Caldwell is the more explosive receiver, and the coaching staff has been gushing about him since training camp. He was inches away from a TD last week, as the referees had to review the play to take it away from him. There's no way the coaching staff is going to be able to keep this kid off the field. He is going to continue to compete for playing time, and he is an absolute gem in leagues that reward for kick return yardage.

Definitely worth rostering in a redraft league in my opinion as a flex player or as a WR3 in 16-team leagues and has WR2 upside. He represents huge value as he was probably going around the 15th round and later in redraft leagues.
