Do you actually have knowledge on this, or is your proximity to the Texans and your participation in fantasy football your link to the information on Johnson?Since we have been getting conflicting reports from the team and the press paid to cover the team, I'm just a bit skeptical that a local fan knows something that seems, currently, unknowable.Guys, as a native Houstonian and fellow FFBaller....think week 11 return for Andre Johnson....Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson (knee) is not going to play Week 7. so both of these quotes have been showing up in this thread multiple times, stil sound questionable to me.From houstontexans.com:
The return of ‘Dre: Wide receiver Andre Johnson, who hasn’t played since suffering a sprained left knee late in the Week 2 win at Carolina, may return for this week’s crucial home game against division rival Tennessee.
“He’s progressing well; (we’re) very, very hopeful that he’s ready to go this week,” Kubiak said. “We’ll run him tomorrow. We liked the progress we saw last week, so we’ve just kind of got our fingers crossed that he’s ready to go this week.”
Johnson was among the league leaders with 14 receptions for 262 yards and three touchdowns in the first two games of the season, and the Texans have scored only four offensive touchdowns since he was sidelined. The team should know more about Johnson’s status by Tuesday or Wednesday. Stay tuned to HoustonTexans.com for updates throughout the week.

I think he’s day-to-day and he’s just waiting any day for us to turn him loose with the guys as far as getting involved in the football part of it, but he’s running at full speed and cutting at full speed. We’ll just have to make the best decision for him, but he’ll be day-to-day.”on the chances that WR Andre Johnson will play Sunday) “I have a hard time telling you that today. Everything is so good; the rehab process and everything he’s doing is so positive, but ya’ll know as well as I do until you step out here on the field and do it, it’s hard to make that call. Very good news, IMO, and makes it seem less likely he'll be held out until after the bye. Kubes? KUBES??!! Add another ridiculous nickname to the long list. "Kubes" is way up there on the gay scale. I love how they saved exactly one letter.I found this on a houston fan site......

Like Honk said, today on 610 Kubes said that when AJ originally hurt his knee, they were all looking for him to return for the Titians game. Kubes said that AJ did some running last week and will run more tomorrow (Tuesday) and they would know by Wed. if he will be able to play this sunday.
I texted Rich Lord on 610 and he said that he talked to Kubes off the air and Kubes did not sound that confident about AJ playing, and the phrase Kubes used was that "he had his fingers crossed" about AJ playing.
It may have been Elway who first started calling Kubiak "Kubes". When it was first announced Kubiak would be the offensive coordinator of the Broncos, Elway said something along the likes of, "Alright, coach Kubes!"If it wasn't Elway that started it, then it goes back quite a ways regardless.Sonny Lubick Blowup Doll said:Kubes? Truly frustrating from a fantasy football perspective, but unfortunately teams operate in the way that best helps them win, not helps fantasy football players win.Being as vague as the NFL allows with injuries gives teams an advantage as their future opponents have more to prepare for if they don't know if a player in going to go or not.I'm wondering why there seems to be less definitive information coming out about injuries this year. I don't ever recall a year with so many players seemingly in limbo. I've never seen anything remotely firm on how long AJ or SJax would be out, and it seems to drag on and on. I guess it's all about keeping the other NFL teams in the dark, but it sure makes things tricky for us. I say that with the full realization that our "needs" are trivial to the NFL folks.
It would just be nice if they'd come out and say the guy's out for X-Y number of weeks instead of this wait-and-see garbage. In my case, if AJ can go this week, I'll use him because I'm out of options, and I don't want to spend on a waiver wire move Friday only to cut the guy the next day to activate AJ.

Houston 790AM said at around 5pm in a local sports update for the Charlie Pulillo show, that they spoke to Andre himself and he had declared himself out for this week. I trust them as a good source. Now could Andre be playing mind games...possibly.from a houston fan forum. It was confirmed in the meeting held after practice that Andre Johnson WONT be playing this week against the Titans! I really dont have any source or anything but I live here in Houston and it was being reported on Sports 610 radio earlier this evening!

yuck.. it's looking more & more that he will in fact be out until the bye week.. Wow.. that would make it an 8 week injury...Andre Johnson says doctors have told him his knee sprain is a six-week injury, and wasn't optimistic when asked Wednesday about his chances of playing against the Titans in Week 7.Johnson was injured four weeks ago, and although he has begun running sprints and making some cuts, doesn't appear to be ready for hitting and game action. "I wish I could say in a week or two I'll be back on the field," Johnson said. "But I can't say that. After I run for so long, (the knee) gets pretty weak." Look for Andre' Davis to get another start Sunday. Oct. 18 - 12:10 pm et
Was this 6-week diagnosis anywhere in the news when AJ got hurt? Everything I read said a few weeks, maybe a month then. Now we find out his doctor told him 6 weeks. That sure would've been good to know a month ago.I guess Houston is the New England of the South now....Johnson said Dr. Walter Lowe told him his knee injury typically has a six-week recovery period. ...

Not now, everyone's wary. No value. The time to move him was when people thought it would be a couple weeks, unfortunately. Me being one of them, unfortunately. It may be time to try and move AJ and try and get some good value for him. This appears to be turning into more and more of a gamble that he returns 100% or close to where he was for the first 2 weeks.
Agreed, now you have got to hang on and hope that he comes back for the stretch run and the playoffs. If you can afford the roster spot now he'll payoff when you need him to. However, if you are in need of a win now you need to find someone who is in love with AJ and try to get something for him.I just got him, someone dropped him. I'm hanging on, but there is a possible trade in the works with a guy who loves AJ.I send AJ, Welker, and S. Young he send Cal J., G. Jennings, and Benson. Not that you care about my team, but thought it would give perspective on what AJ is fetching. Basically he wanted AJ for Calvin straight up and I turned it into trying to get something for S. Young as well.He also has J. Walker, and today he'll learn that he's hurt so the trade wont go I assume. So I'm hanging on to AJ and running with him to the playoffs. Not now, everyone's wary. No value. Sorry to bring this up again, but I'm not buying that story. Sounds made up, number one, and having lived there during that time, and following the Broncos for awhile, I've never heard him called that.
