Bill has regularly traded picks. How do you think they got Welker, Moss, Ocho Cinco, Dillon, Haynesworth, Sopoaga, etc.Bill won't trade future picks. He might dump Dobson or Thompkins with Mallet. Player for player deals in the NFL are rare though.
Was discussed pretty thoroughly on Boston radio most of the afternoon.is this a rumor you heard or you're starting?
does it sound like just idle talk radio speculation thrown out there, or have you heard anything from anybody that might have a lead? Was discussed pretty thoroughly on Boston radio most of the afternoon.is this a rumor you heard or you're starting?
Thats what I would guess. Gets the talk flowing in a slow sports time.does it sound like just idle talk radio speculation thrown out there, or have you heard anything from anybody that might have a lead? Was discussed pretty thoroughly on Boston radio most of the afternoon.is this a rumor you heard or you're starting?
That's quite a bar to jump. Was discussed pretty thoroughly on Boston radio most of the afternoon.is this a rumor you heard or you're starting?
I think it's just become SOP to speculate NE is interested or working on obtaining any big name WR who might become available.is this a rumor you heard or you're starting?
that pretty much depend on andre --- isn't this the same guy that tears his deal up every 2 yrs to make sure he's the highest paid receiver?and where exactly are the Pats getting the money for this?
If it's on the Internet, it must be trueSo spitballing is now what constitutes a rumor.
It's spread here to a Northern California as well. Was discussed pretty thoroughly on Boston radio most of the afternoon.is this a rumor you heard or you're starting?
It's a rumor I've been starting on every website I can findis this a rumor you heard or you're starting?
not be confused with most rumors having any real foundation or ever coming true.If it's on the Internet, it must be trueSo spitballing is now what constitutes a rumor.
Yeah. Some guy onUntil someone credible in the media goes on record saying, "Sources tell me these teams are talking about this trade", I would assume people heard radio talking about the possibility and turned it into a rumor it's happening.
I am going to post it on the baby.com forums, so I have that one covered. It's a rumor I've been starting on every website I can findis this a rumor you heard or you're starting?

Don't listen to anything McLain says... he's a complete hack. I have no idea why people give his reports so much credence. He spent the last 9 months saying there was no way this team would draft Clowney, until about 5 days before the draft when he still said it was only 50/50 they took Clowney over Khalil Mack (and that was in the unlikely event they kept the pick). He was saying they were trading back to take a QB... and wouldn't let it go.Yeah. Then some guy in Houston says, "I'm hearing a rumor." Then other radio stations pick up the story and run with it.
Until one of the big names in the national media, or Weiss or McClane(?), say it's on I'm not buying.

He actually said he'd eat the front page of the paper if he was wrong and did it on NFLN.Don't listen to anything McLain says... he's a complete hack. The Texans want Mallett but the Pats would rather keep him if they can't get at least a 4th.NOBODY WANTS MALLETT. When will all this trade talk about him stop? The Pats clearly don't want him. If they could get anything of value at all they would have before the draft.
Patriots salary cap reliefFrom a football management perspective, the Patriots may benefit from today's news. When Hernandez signed a $40 million contract extension in August 2012, his contract reportedly contained language assuring there were no circumstances that would prevent him from meeting his contractual obligations. If Hernandez had already murdered two people by that point, he would have signed the contract in bad faith. The Patriots now have a compelling argument that they owe him no money on the deal and thus should receive associated salary cap relief from the NFL. The team can also demand that Hernandez reimburse the team.
Do we know that getting Mallet would make AJ happy? If all it takes is a 4th to get Mallett and make AJ happy I don't know what they are thinking in Houston.
Happier than going into the season with Fitzpatrick, Keenum and Savage at QB.Do we know that getting Mallet would make AJ happy? If all it takes is a 4th to get Mallett and make AJ happy I don't know what they are thinking in Houston.
that sounds like a good plan -- spend a few years training your only back up qb to trade him away before the draft and cross your fingers hoping some random rookie replacement falls to you.NOBODY WANTS MALLETT. When will all this trade talk about him stop? The Pats clearly don't want him. If they could get anything of value at all they would have before the draft.
And if Hernandez doesn't? Is he going to jail forever...and ever?New double-murder charges devastating for Aaron Hernandez

this was the best part of the whole thing
as I had seen both 6.5m and 10m quoted as his salary this year.UPDATE 2:08 p.m. ET: Johnson’s 2014 base salary has escalated to $10 million based on his performance in 2013. Which means that the Texas would avoid an extra $3.5 million if he is traded or cut this year.
