AJ has a lung contusion and will be listed as day-to-day. He got hurt early in the second quarter on the first play  and played the rest of the game with the injury.

Further tests will be done throughout the week to make sure he's okay.

He must be really good since he had 2 receptions and according to you, was only in for one play.

He didn't say he went out immediately. He just didn't play the rest of the game.

Just for the record, the injury happened in the 4th quarter. Not that it really matters.

From the 4th quarter NFL.com play by play:

2-6-SF 37 (11:12) 8-M.Schaub pass incomplete short right to 85-J.Dreessen. HST-80-A.Johnson was injured during the play. His return is Questionable.

saw the game and right after his first catch, he did look like he was hurt (if i remember correctly, he even asked to go out of the game for a breather). Whether that caused the injury or on his 2nd catch, who knows.

This is wrong. He was hurt much earlier than this. He took a shot to the back from Tarrell Brown early in the second quarter on a third-and-12 completion for 18 yds that caused him to leave the game for a couple of plays. As soon as the play ended he waved to the coaching staff to be replaced. Cameras caught him in obvious pain on the sideline, crouching and pointing to his lower/middle back while talking to the team trainers. The fourth quarter play likely exacerbated the injury and knocked him out of the game.

(on when WR Andre Johnson got injured) “It happened early in the game. It happened on his first catch. He got hit in the lower back pretty good and played the whole game, was having a hard time catching his breath and then after he made that big play was struggling with it. So he basically played banged up throughout the day so that’s pretty impressive by him.”

Like I said....

How cares when he got hurt???? Is it really that important enough for you to continue arguing? He got hurt. Period.

I know right!! I just want to know when he's playing again lol

Pulmonary contusion usually resolves itself without causing permanent complications; however it may also have long-term ill effects on respiratory function. Most contusions resolve in five to seven days after the injury. Signs detectable by radiography are usually gone within 10 days after the injury—when they are not, other conditions, such as pneumonia, are the likely cause.Chronic lung disease correlates with the size of the contusion and can interfere with an individual's ability to return to work.Fibrosis of the lungs can occur, resulting in dyspnea (shortness of breath), low blood oxygenation, and reduced functional residual capacity for as long as six years after the injury. As late as four years post-injury, decreased functional residual capacity has been found in most pulmonary contusion patients studied. During the six months after pulmonary contusion, up to 90% of people suffer difficulty breathing. In some cases, dyspnea persists for an indefinite period. Contusion can also permanently reduce the compliance of the lungs.

When he got hurt is relevant because 1) it shows that he played the game with that injury and 2) it may explain his decreased production for the game.I'm sorry if I came off as argumentative, I was just trying to correct the record and provide accurate information. This stuff from Houston Chronicle reporter John McClain about him getting hurt falling on the ball is just nonsense.

Reading between the lines here, if the Texans really care about the long-term health of Johnson not playing this weekend is probably safer although Johnson could be fine because the injury generally takes about a week to heal.

Doesn't matter if he's a doctor or just stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night, it's still an informative post.

well i hope he is okay. i would rather see him play for sure against the colts the week after buffalo. even though it will cost me fantasy land.

he is a great guy in real life. met him back in april. had lunch with him.
