He could say what Antonio Pierce said...that it's like playing a scrimmage.
"I do not like knocking teams. But right now, they're struggling. We're playing that game the other day and, honestly, it felt like a scrimmage, like a practice. It felt like we were going against our offense (in a controlled setting) as far as the tempo.

"There was no vibe of trying or effort from the Raiders at all from a defensive standpoint against their offense. We're getting three-and-outs. You don't hear nobody (saying), 'Hey, let's go!' trying to pick the guys up, rallying them, getting guys fired up. There was nothing. It was quiet. A guy gets sacked or somebody gets beat, they just get up. It's not like there's yelling or no kind of (emotion) about the way they were playing.

"It was shocking to be out there in that game and get that kind of feeling."

More like 3", but I cant argue with 1" especially if Al is narrow eyed (assuming he is since he is narrow minded).

What Andy was saying, and you need to be an eagle fan to read between the lines, was clearly :

The raiders are wearing the patch on the good eye

Scoot it over an inch or two and all should be well.

See you at the game this weekend Andy, the storm has passed, let Donnie throw the ball. I want to see Vick get a snap or 2 as well.

The Raiders, right now, are simply non-competitive. They look like a college team.

Al can't do that because it would be admitting that LANE WAS RIGHT. Even if Lane never said that, Al dug his grave (pun intended) by publicly backing Jamarcus as part of his ploy not to pay Lane the remainder of his contract. Al is a pretty hard-headed guy, and it would not surprise me at all (eventhough Rome is crumbling at his feet) for him to keep Russell in, as taking him out would admit Lane was right.
 
An inch away from an all time low. 6 seasons of losing 11 games or more, and counting!!

Keep up the great work AL and you may ultimately be removed from the HOF.

Forgive me if I get a few details wrong here because I'm just going from an admittedly fuzzy memory, but there was a Steelers - Raiders game a few years ago that the Raiders won despite being outgained by something like 400 yards to 100. The final was something like 21-6 Raiders, and it was all the result of turnovers and returns. The Steelers owned them except they would get into the red zone and cough it up.

Reid knows he doesn't mean what he says about the "inch away" but he has to say something like that. You can't go into any team's city and just assume a cake walk. If you're not sharp, goofy things happen and you can lose. I think that's what happened to the Steelers that day.

And you aren't even mentioning Davis' control over paly call and defensive schemes.Yup. As has been said before, the Raduhs will never be competitive as long as Al Davis is in control.
 
You have no idea how bad it is for a San Francisco native who is a Niner's fan and are forced to watch the Raiders on local TV because they are in the bay area. They are singlehandedly making me want to purchase NFL redzone.

IIRC, that was one of Roethlisberger's first games back after his motorcycle accident and having his appendix(?) removed.That said, that Raiders team was better than this Raiders team and this Eagles team is better than that Steelers team.

Come on, let's not get crazy here. Sure, the Chargers have looked terrible, but it's way too soon to say that they're worse than the Raiders.

You might be thinking of the 2002 Houston/Pittsburgh game that the Texans won 21-6 on the strength of three defensive touchdowns.

Steelers outgained the Raiders 360-98 and the final was 20-13 Oakland (not 21-6 as I guessed earlier).

Andrew Walter threw for 51 yards, Ben threw for 301 yards.

Raiders scored on two interception returns (24 and 100 yds), and got a couple FGs off turnovers. Ben threw 4 INTs.

The Houston - Pittsburgh game in 2002 was 24-6 and as you said was another turnover-won game.

David Carr threw for 33 yards for HOU, Maddox for 325 yards for PIT, and overall the yardage was 422-47!!!

But, the Steelers had 2 INTs (both returned for TDs, of 70 and 65 yards) and 3 lost fumbles (one of them returned 40 yards for a score).

Ouch.

Anyway, fun to look back but the point of it all is that sometimes crazy things happen.
