Another Mashall rumor: Chiefs, Cardinals, and Broncos (1 Viewer)

This is another rumor on a local sports radio program in Missouri. Someone from Warpaint Illustrated (magazine for the Chiefs) reported on the program that a 3 team deal is being discussed between the Cardinals, Chiefs, and Broncos. Here are the parts I caught:

Denver gets: Matt Leinart

Chiefs get: Anquan Boldin

Cardinals get: Brandon Marshall and Tyler Thigpen

I would have to think this would make the least sense for the Cardinals. I would think they would want additional defensive help from one of the teams.

I am sure there are those who will claim that I am making this up. I am simply passing on what was said. Take it for what its worth.

Can my Lions get a Marshall rumor thread? We'll give up Stanton and B. Johnson, or something along those lines.

From the website:

Kansas City: Sends QB Tyler Thigpen and their 2nd Round Pick acquired from Atlanta for the TG trade to the Arizona Cardinals for Wide Receiver Anquan Boldin.

Arizona: Would send back-up quarterback Matt Leinert and the pick acquired from Kansas City to Denver for disgruntled wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Denver: Receives a starting quarterback and they get a second round pick.

Although Brodie Croyle is the name that is starting to surface.

Here is the website address: http://kan.scout.com/

It is being discussed in the forums. You can sign up for a 7 day trial to read it.

Not that I believe the rumor, but I could actually see Arizona doing it. Instead of paying Boldin what he's worth, they get a simuliar type of reciever who's almost as good, has a worse attitude, also doesnt want to stay with his current team, and also wants a huge contract. Maybe Marshall will be slightly cheaper than Boldin and maybe they think Thigpen is a better fit for this team than Leinart. Maybe simply Boldin is so set on a new team that it doesnt matter how much money they offer anymore.

KC has to give up more than Thigpen in this deal though. If Cassell is worth a second round pick, Thigpen is worth less. Boldin, even with a new mega contract, is worth more than a first IMO.

Oooh, my turn!

My sources are telling me there's a deal in place to trade Marshall to the Seahawks so they can get their top five pick back.

In what trade world does AZ give up ProBowl WR and a QB that could probably start on half a dozen teams in the NFL for a WR that is one infraction away from a suspension?

Lienart starts in

Oakland

Denver

Detroit

Tampa

Miami

Buffalo

Kansas City

Lienart fell into a bad situation, Warner becomes the pro bowler he was years ago. There a plenty of young QB's who have struggled and kept their jobs because the options behind them was not named Warner.

I heard a 3 way sending Feeley, Galloway and a 4th to Denver, Maroney to Philly and Marshall to New England

All I hear all day long is how great Marshall is or what crazy thing Marshall did! Marshall, Marshall, Marshall!!!!

Arizona has a seriously broken relationship with Boldin. Its just that Boldin doesnt cry nearly as much as Marshall does. Also, trading Leinart could save them money. Part of Leinart's problem might be that he's not the best fit for this offense.

Warpaint Illustrated is the "National Enquirer" of KC Media -- they still think we traded for Joey Harrington, traded Larry Johnson to GN and used the #3 pick on Aaron Curry. These are all things they have "scooped" everyone else on in the last 2 seasons.

Their writers, specifically Nick Athan, are horrible.

Okay. Let's start with ARI. Why would ARI do this?
Because they really want to trade a stud WR under contract for two more seasons (who wants a new deal) for a stud knucklehead WR who is under contract for only one more year (who probably wants a bigger new deal) while also desiring to move a QB they drafted with the 11th overall pick for an undrafted QB? :hot:

Yes, we just reached that point. Brandon Marshall has now been linked to every single NFL team as a possible trade candidate. More to follow.

But didn't Boldin have a screaming argument with Haley on the sideline last season? As a Broncos fan, this thread is simultaneously exciting and depressing.

Latest Boldin Trade Rumor

As Anquan Boldin continues to seek a restructured contract, trade rumors have resumed regarding the three-time Pro Bowl wideout. The latest development includes a potential three-way deal that would send Boldin to the AFC in exchange for another disgruntled receiver. Brad Wilbricht outlines the latest happenings in the Boldin saga in this AZRedReport.com exclusive.

The quietness surrounding Arizona Cardinals’ WR Anquan Boldin may soon be coming to an end. With the regular season set to kickoff in less than two weeks, Boldin’s immediate future could come to fruition quickly. If Boldin begins the season in a Cardinals’ uniform, expect him to finish the year in the desert. However, discussions about a potential deal that would reunite Boldin with Arizona’s former offensive coordinator Todd Haley in Kansas City have apparently taken place.

The Cardinals refrained from trading Boldin prior to the draft in large part due to the insufficient offers they received. Now with another wideout seeking a new contract possibly on the table, Arizona GM Rod Graves may be considering parting ways with the Boldin camp. Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall is the wide receiver popping up in trade talks and the Cardinals would also be in line to receive another young signal caller.

While Boldin and Marshall would be the headliners of the potential trade, several other key players would be included. With both Denver and the Kansas City Chiefs involved in the talks, there would also be a shuffle between quarterbacks. Arizona backup QB Matt Leinart would reportedly be headed to the Mile High City with either Brodie Croyle or Tyler Thigpen heading to the desert. Kansas City would in turn get Boldin and Denver would receive Leinart and a second-round draft pick.

That would leave the Cardinals with another Pro Bowler in Marshall replacing Boldin, who has proved to be extremely productive during his time in Arizona. In addition, with many questions regarding the long-term future of Leinart, the Cardinals would enter fresh blood in the contest to succeed veteran QB Kurt Warner upon his retirement.

Although the above scenario would make some sense from a personnel perspective, it wouldn’t solve the current problems facing Arizona’s front office. The Cardinals would essentially be swopping one disgruntled wideout for another. If Arizona is unwilling to restructure Boldin’s deal at this point in time, addressing Marshall’s current deal wouldn’t make sense. Marshall’s production can’t be questioned but he’s been involved in several off-field incidents, which makes him a much more risky investment than Boldin.

Furthermore, the Cardinals would be pulling the plug on Leinart, who the team selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2005 draft. Replacing him with Croyle or Thigpen doesn’t seem like the answer at this point in time. The thought of replacing Boldin and Leinart with Marshall and one of the Chiefs’ backup quarterbacks isn’t all that attractive when weighing the pros and cons of the situation.

I think it's a great deal for Denver and Kansas City if it were to occur. Not so much for Arizona. I still consider this highly unlikely but you never know.

The truth is that Marshall does not have much value right now.
Why cuz he dont like an organization that got rid of its head coach, that traded a stud QB for garbage, and hired a young ego driven coach with no sense of how to run a team!Lets keep in mind Marshall has b2b 100 reception seasons, he deserves the money he wants!Yes he is causing problems, but are they all on him!His immaturity last week yes his fault, having your PR people tell ur teammates to not be happy for you....question? would u want to work like that when ur under paid?
