Another vetoed trade controversy... (1 Viewer)

I guess this goes in TSP... So a trade was made and it was accepted. LJ and Curtis for Holt and K Jones.

Later, it was vetoed without reason from the commish. I naturally go wtf? and the other GM said that he was typing in a message in the trade comment field but pressed enter to go to the next line and it accepted the deal accidentally so he told his brother (commish) not to let it go through, which of course he did. I think it's pretty amateurish and shady as it goes down a slippery slope as to the exact version of events, and not everyone has the same accessibility to the commish/his bro to change #### up like this before he puts deals through which can be at any time (if someone can't get a hold of him, then they're SOL)

Can anyone confirm if hitting enter in the comments trade field of yahoo accepts a trade? And if so, am I justified in being pissed on how this was handled? I mean can this not easily be a situation where the commish brother convinced him this was unfair, and looked for a way out. It's my first year in this league but past events where I've had to bite the bullet has made me a little untrustworthy of this league.

Dunno about the technical aspects of Yahoo trades--but did the comments that he was 'in the middle of typing' show up? I''d be curious as to what they said....

I haven't played a yahoo! league in a while, but I don't remember there being an "Accept with comments" button. I thought it was just "Accept", "Reject", or "Reject and Counter". I don't remember a way to enter comments unless you're the one offering a trade or counter. How did the guy get on a page with a comments box and an Accept? For that matter, why would such a page exist? Get someone else in the league to help you test this.

From a technical perspective, if there is actually a page with a comments and accept then yes, it is possible, if not likely, that pressing enter inside the form field triggers the default action, which could be "Accept".

I think the comments is if you are intending to reject the deal... the comment box is on the same page as the accept, reject or reject with counter.

I don't know how to check if any msg was sent, in fact I don't even know how to see the comments if it was rejected with comments. The offer just disappears from the desk.

It'd be in an email to the other owner, though maybe not sent if accepted.

ok I did receive the email saying he will only accept offers for 1 of my 3 RB's. but the trade was accepted It checks out. Thanks.

Something similar happened in my Yahoo league. Owner was writing why he didn't approve trade, but the system accepted the trade.

I don't know how Yahoo works but in the leagues I commish I allow anyone who mistakenly accepted a trade or picked/dropped the wrong guy to send me an email within 2 minutes so that it is clear it was a mistake. Then it is on record and would be corrected.
