Anthony Thomas the starter in Buffalo (1 Viewer)

I always see Lynch listed as the #1 RB, and his ADP is way way way ahead of Thomas', but on the Bills website Thomas is listed as the starter. Jauron loves the guy and always has. I know Lynch has the talent, but why does it seem like everyone assumes that Jauron is going to do anything more than RBBC, which is what he's said he intends to do?

:lmao: Lynch has never been known as a primary ball carrier - in college he even shared time. If anyone think he is suddenly going to be a workhourse they will be disappointed. This is RBBC all the way with Thomas getting the GL touches.

Yes, but this isnt a DeAngelo Williams/Foster situation. Fact is, Lynch will get significant carries and catches, and the A-train aroudn may even make Lynch better.Im an A-train owner but im more than willing to accept reality, I think Lynch does pretty well, great hands and speed.

This has been pretty well debunked by someone else here that is a Cal fan.

Hmm interesting.. I am curious - do you have the numbers to compare?Let's look at this objectively.

"pretty well" is all well and good, but I see Lynch regularly projected with 70% of the the fantasy points compared to Thomas' 30%. I think that's way too heavy. Conservatively I see it 45/55 in favor of Lynch, but think it could go the other way as well.

I can see A-Train starting in Week One, but if Lynch isn't the starter and primary ball carrier by the second half of the season (in a true feature role), I will be quite surprised.

That's misleading and I'm sure a Cal guy will be here to tell you. When Lynch was in the game, he got 80% of the carries.

The carries by Forsett came after Lynch was pulled...due to Cal blowing the other team out.

So, he wasn't sharing carries. He was the primary ball carrier. It's just that he only played 1/2 to 2/3 of each game.

i think that's how it goes.

Fair enoguh. But refer to my context: I meant pretty well compared to other rookie or RBBC dissapointments. Lynch is going to get the rock, he is the more talented player and the coaches wont ignore it. But: If somebody wants to try and make him their #2 fantasy back in a 12 or 10 team league, that is another ball of wax. Lynch is not a

Wow- Honestly I didn't know that. Thanks

It makes sense.

So A-Train is in a similar role to Tatum Bell v. Kevin Jones. Starts at the beginning of the season, probably not very much after the midway point. I can live with that. For a guy that I can get at the very end of my draft, that's fantastic value.

No. Kevin Jones is a starter in the NFL that has proved he is capable when healthy.Lynch hasn't proved anything and (although I haven't heard any reports on his pass blocking) has a lot to learn before he helps his team more than he hurts it while he's on the field. Thomas has experience in the NFL and will probably earn playing time on that. I suppose for a topic of conversation is Lynch's pass-blocking skills. Anyone been watching this?

A-Train is about done. Bill's spend a first round pick on Lynch, fear to use him much in the preseason so far, and Lynch "is" their most talented physically gifted Offensive player on the Bills team. I think anyone selling this guy short is in for a rude wake up call when your opposing fantasy squad is playing him against you. I truly believe that the Vikings A. Peterson has some qualities that will make him an outstanding back, however I think Lynch will be the Next LT and should have been the first RB off the board in the 2007 draft. All that said the Bills line is suspect and Coach J-Moron is a terrible offensive minded coach, ALA the Bears prior to his butt getting fired. Look for a new HC in the Great Lakes area by 2009. Lynch's fantasy potential is limited this season because of the Questions on the Bills Line and because I beleive Coach J-Moron shouldnt be coaching a college team let alone sniffing jocks in the NFL. The personnel guy making decisions for the Bills this year has however done an outstanding job thru the draft. Picking Lynch and Edwards(the Bills future starting QB) were excellent decisions.

I did a quick search and CalBear was the one that posted some info on Lynch as a non-RBBC guy:"Lynch was not an RBBC back at Cal. He got 2/3 of the carries on the season because Cal blew out a lot of opponents, so they rested him. Lynch had 20+ carries in 6 games this past season and 7 games the year before; outside of garbage time, he was a feature back."

"Bush had 3 games in his college career where he had 20+ carries, and he never had 25 carries. Lynch had 13 games in the two years he was starting where he had 20+ carries, including 4 games with 25+ carries."

All that said the Bills line is suspect and Coach J-Moron is a terrible offensive minded coach, ALA the Bears prior to his butt getting fired.
Also, they have a very tough schedule against the run this year. That adds up to Lynch not being a great pick in redrafts IMO, regardless of playing time. In dynasty, it's a whole different story, of course.
