My daughter just turned 8 and it was fine for her. One of the tamer Marvel movies, much like GOTG. Opposite end of the spectrum from dark entries like Iron Man 3 and Captain America Winter Soldier.

Took my 5 (almost 6) son and had no issues with it. It does have a few swear words in it if that's a concern for you, but no sex and violence.

I didn't like the demeaning way it depicted ants, and might impress upon your son that it is ok treat insects that way.

but to answer the question, a couple people get turned into goo. no real sex stuff at all. there are curses though.

I thought it was pretty tame compared to some of the other ant sex scenes we have seen in movies recently.
