Antone Smith (1 Viewer)

Omniscient Deity

Is anyone else just left scratching their head thinking of why this guy isn't getting more touches? His yards per touch is are ridiculous, and that's not even including another long TD play he had called back this season. I know he had a fumble recently, but his speed, explosiveness and production is simply too good to ignore. Steven Jackson is a pure power back these days with basically no explosion.

Smith to me is the Falcons most dangerous runner. Jacquizz has had a career of mediocrity, and Freeman seem OK, but doesn't have much explosion either.

I want to know how this guy is near 30 and has never gotten any real work. Everyone sees what you do. It kind of is mind boggling, yeah.

I dunno, I thought he showed pretty well toward the end of last season as well but instead they went out and got freeman. Dunno why they won't give the guy a shot.

I can't believe how quiet the sp has been about this cat. He is the ultimate definition of dark horse sleeper. Everyone thought that freeman was going to be the guy if/when sjax goes down.

But smith is the man to own. Sjax is underperforming and injury prone at this point in his career. Does anyone really think he lasts all season without missing a few games?

All smith needs is one game with 10-15 touches and he can run away with the starting gig

And to top it off, Atlanta OC just said that smith is making a great argument for more touches even with sjax healthy.

I just stashed smith on my bench. Let's see...

He's 5' 9" / 192lbs. Has he ever run between the tackles? Perhaps he can, but all I've ever seen from him are sweeps. If he can't then he's not a foundation back, and his change of pace role is likely to continue.
