Antwaan Randle El (1 Viewer)

He's one of those players who mean more to their NFL team than their FF teams.

That said, he actually ranked among the starting WRs in my main league last year. But, we start 64 or more WRs.

I agree that he's a player who means more to his NFL team than to his fantasy team, however I look for him to improve. First of all the Redskins offensive situation was less than ideal last year. Brunell was the starter for nine games and was ineffective, followed by Campbell who was making his first pro starts without the benefit of reps with the first team. Portis was injured for most of the year. Moss, too, had injury problems. Saunders took most of the year to figure out that power running and play-action are a formula for success with this team. These things figure to all be improved this year.

The other thing to me that's intriguing is that Brandon Lloyd's attitude problems did not impress Gibbs and the rest of the staff at all. Randle-El may actually end up as the second WR for much of the time. No, there's been no official announcement or anything, but there's no doubt that the team loves ARE and his spirit and leadership.

Finally, if you're in a league like I am that awards bonuses for big plays, the fact that ARE is the primary dealer of gadget plays for the team can only help. Those plays, e.g. the WR reverse option pass, have as much of a chance as any to go for long yardage and scores, which along with his PR duties adds bonus value to him.

Last year in my PPR league the 48th ranked WR (the last WR theoretically to start in a 16-team, start-three WR league) was Matt Jones, who had 41/643/4. I believe that ARE can put up those numbers or better for Washington and can be a borderline starter.

I don`t even think Randy El has that much value to the Skins.

 you must not watch many Redskins games then.
I watched a few..I am talking bang for the buck value. At the right price El had alot of value but he is overpaid for a wR.
depends on how you want to look at it. Personally I don't care how much they overpay guys, if the Skins sit $20 million under the cap I don't get a check in the mail. And he was pretty good last year, we have needed a reliable return man for waaayy to long. Plus taking some pressure off of Moss is beyond helpful.

You only reinforced the perception that you don't watch many games by simply listing his receiving stats. Regardless, would you rather have Randle El on your team with a seven-year, $30M contract or Derrick Dockery or Leonard Davis for 7 years $49/$50M? :wall: This offseason is showing that scale used to measure the wisdom of contracts is completely out the window.
