Antwoin Smith signs in Tenn. (1 Viewer)

A Smith is a lazy slob. The main reason he looks good in the playoffs is that it takes him that long to get in shape. I WON'T have him on my team. I hate the guy. However, if he is in Tennessee, can he hurt Brown's value? YES.

I see the situation in Tenn as being quite clear.I think the Titans like Brown, a lot. That explains why they didn't draft Bell or Jones when they had the chance to do so. Either one of them would cost a ton of cash to boot. However, Tenn is in fact a playoff caliber team, no doubt. While I believe the team loves Brown and is confident in his ability to handle the bulk of the load this year, they weren't willing to gamble 100% that it would definitely happen. No smart front office puts all their faith in a virtually unproven, young back without having a decent, veteran backup behind him.Enter Smith. Guy's won the big game and played an integral part in his team getting to the Bowl and winning it. He could be used in a variety of ways, including pure backup, sharing the load or spelling Brown from time to time to keep Brown fresh.I bet this deal was in place a long time ago (off the record of course) and I applaud the Titans for this move. I see Brown having a nice season and Smith playing a very nice complimentary role.

As an Eddie George owner last year, I watched in more than one game Chris Brown take some red zone and goal line carries away from George. They were in some pretty important games too.

[slight Hijack] Anyone else wonder why Tenn. didn't sign a back with good hands? Smith doesn't have bricks, but Brown never looked like he had the good hands the Eddie did. Would this mean a bump for their TEs on third/passing downs?
Actually Brown has decent hands and it's one area that is teachable (as opposed to vision, speed, agility)
