Any chance that Gronk gets a week 1 start? (1 Viewer)

Seems like a Bellichician move. He's evidently been in pads all week and was reported to have been working out away from the team. Clearly, Buffalo hasn't been preparing for Gronk on the field and the Jets will have little time to prepare for a week 2 Thursday night start.

I know most don't think much of the Bills or Jets, but they are division games, and Bill is always looking for an edge.

Am I just paranoid about the Pats?

Since it's the Bills and Sudfeld has proven to be more than adequate, it makes more sense to rest Gronk and let him take the full timetable to recover. Looking ahead at their schedule, starting week 4 they've got the Falcons, Bengals, then Saints.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him eased into the lineup week 3 vs. the Panthers, maybe with a limited snap count.

He's the only one. I believe Buffalo just named their starter today.

We'll know a lot more when the practice reports are released. And then on Saturday if he even makes the trip.

Last I read a reporter asked BB a Q along these lines and his reply was "it's a step" like a step toward starting not that he's there yet. I think it was Reiss if anyone feels like googling.

if your a gronk owner almost fell like your better off hearing he is inactive, then he will get limited snaps.

because if he gets any snaps he needs to be in your lineup. he very well could have 2 catches for 10 yards and 2 tds in the red zone for all we know and that would be limited snaps.

and I know its the Bills but its still a division game on the road to open the season, and they did lose to the cardinals early last year. so you cant just over look them

Agree. I picked up Sudfeld and now feel like I need to re-think who I start...
Yeah I am in so many leagues that I have sudfield in some, and gronk in some.. I think keep sudfield in your lineup whether Gronk is in or not. especially if you can flex Sudfield out. do you also have gronk?

Sudfield is in Aaron Hernadez spot so he will still catch some balls.. One thing I havent heard though is with injury concerns with Sudfield. Seems like he had some issues in college.

I'm in a non-TE mandatory league and starting Sudfield as my flex. Brady throws to his TE's, especially in the redzone, and I've seen nothing that indicates Gronk will be activated. If they were even considering PUP'ing him, then it just makes sense he's not ready week 1. Week 3 at the earliest.

If Gronk has no shot at playing why is he practicing in full pads with everyone else? Decoy? To get in game shape for 2 weeks from now?

Not sure if he plays or not, but the fact that he's been in full pads all week AND them cutting loose about every other TE they had rostered makes one think..................

it would make sense to start him week 2 vs. the jets

it'll give him an extra few days to get ready... but also give him a longer break before week 3 game

He'll most likely be listed as questionable tomorrow with a GTD coming on Sunday. If he's active, he needs to be in all fantasy lineups.

That doesn't really matter. Bellichick lists everyone as probable or doubtful. The only designation that matters is "out"

You would think if the Patriots are as smart as they think they are, they would have learned to not rush him back the way they did last year. The last few years though, I think hoodie has out thought himself a time or two, so maybe this is one of those times.
