He still has knees, they still suck, and we still have no clue who is going to step into his role if/when he can't go.

That about sums it up, and I suspect that this will be the case until after the 3rd pre-season game.

DD has 2 choices, learn to play with pain or find a new career.

The coaching staff is getting impatient and therookie RB's are looking good. The way things are going it wouldn't surprise me a bit if DD starts the season on the PUP list.

Morency gets his shot this Saturday. Too many options right now to give everyone a look the first game and he was just coming off a minor injury.

Rhodes to St. Louis : Kubiak said Wednesday that a decision has not yet been made on who will get the starting nod at running back in St.Louis this weekend. The leading candidates are Wali Lundy and Vernand Morency. Morency was held out of Saturday’s preseason debut in order to give some of the rookie running backs more time. He is expected to see considerable playing time against the Rams, even if he doesn’t get the starting nod. Another back that might see the ball a lot Saturday night is rookie free agent Damien Rhodes. Kubiak said Rhodes impressed the coaching staff versus the Chiefs and has earned some playing time this weekend.

“I’ll tell you what happens. Sometimes as a coach you can get a good feel for a player at practice, but sometimes you can’t,” Kubiak said. “He (Rhodes) got in the game the other night and it just looked like it wasn’t too big for him. He looked pretty sharp there carrying the ball. And he’s looked good returning kicks for (special teams coordinator) Joe (Marciano) so we want to give him a chance We’re going to give him a good luck at him and he’ll return kicks for us this weekend as well.”

Glad you pointed it out. All the earlier news indicated it was going to be Morency's show on Saturday but sounds like Lundy's impression is sticking.
