Any injury info on Ryan Grant? (1 Viewer)

This is from Friday's press conference with Mike McCarthy:

(Grant said this would be the last week he'll be held out of two practices. Is that just a player wanting to do more, or is that what he's hearing from you and the medical staff?)

Well, a lot of how he feels is a big part of the input that Pat McKenzie, Dr. McKenzie uses to make decisions. You can look at scans and all the different things, the rehab, but the feedback is important. We hope that's the case, and that's the same conversation I was part of in the medical meeting. But how he comes out of the game will be the biggest test.

(How did he look today?)

Looked good. He did. He looked good. I thought he had more bounce in his step. I thought he looked better this week than last week.

(When you're limiting a guy's snaps like that, but last week he got the ball most of the snaps he was in there, how do you avoid making that so predictable?)

That's a good question. That's no different than any other self-scout tendency that you go through. That's something that we have to continue to watch. Every personnel grouping in the game is also tagged by who the runner is. So we're conscious of that. I don't think it's a huge factor because we've only played two games, and also the fact that he has been limited. I'm not as concerned about it as we move into this game.

Grant is not 100% and will probably split carries enough to make some of your other RB options necessary.

He will play and will probably get enough looks in the red zone to be worthy of starting on many non-stacked fantasy teams but your expectations shouldn't be of the #1 or high #2 FF RB right now. If you're fortunate enough to have depth at RB (and that RB has a decent match-up) it might be time to look at that option.

No doom or gloom...just muted expectations for Grant until he's healthy.

You COULD read into McCarthy's comments and conclude that they are taking off the training wheels this game. Sadly, I can't bring myself to bench Grant for Michael Bush, who will likely go off on my bench.

Ryan Grant to start

Ryan Grant - RB - GB - Sep. 19 - 7:33 pm et

Packers coach Mike McCarthy confirmed after Friday's practice that Ryan Grant (probable, hamstring) will start in Week 3 at Dallas.

"He looked good (in the workout)," McCarthy said. "I thought he had more bounce in his step. I thought he looked better this week than last week." Grant is a top-12 fantasy option in a matchup that could turn into a shootout.

I hear ya...My dilema is that I already have Willie Parker, LJ & Marshaw at RB. WR's are Brandon Marshall & Andre Johnson...If I go for a Banged up Grant my only weak spot will be TE. Believe it or not, it's a tough decision.

So do I accept the trade of Grant for my Cooley from the TE starved team?
Gates, Winslow > Grant >>>>>>>> All other TEs
wat*witten>grant>gates>winslow>>>>>>>>>>>>>other TEs
Witten doesn't count because he's the Cowboys #2 wide receiver.Or, if you prefer, Witten>>>>>>>>>>>Gates, Winslow>Grant>>>>>>>>>All other TEs

I needed a backup QB after Cutler and I just dropped Brandon Jackson for Kitna. I did pick up Michael Bush too. These were 5 and 6 backs in my stable so I hope the drop of Jackson doesn't come back to bite me if Grant goes down for any longer.

The problem is Jackson is probably a better play for the year than Bush despite the fact that Bush may see 15-20 carries tomorrow.
