I've been offered Domanick Davis as a throw in to a deal. Is there any real value there? What do we know about his injury? Will he play again? Will he be effective again?
We probably won't know for several months, but seeing as how other severely injured guys seem to have made it back, I wouldn't rule it out. He's probably worth stashing away just in case...
Agreed, for the most part. However, Davis doesn't have a ligament or muscle tear. Doesn't he have the dreaded "bone on bone" in his knee? It may be a question of pain tolerance, but IMO, he'll be popping up on the injury reports all the time again once he starts having to practice/play again.
I already dropped him for roster space. I am in a keeper league and I would have had to given up I think a 7th rounder next year. I can't imagine after missing a year, that he will go that high, so it wasn't worth me keeping him.
He had been a great find, even with missing 5 games last year, since I picked him up as a FA in 2003 and he was basically top 10 ppg wise once he became the starter, he was top 5 in 2004 and he was top 10 ppg for 11 games in 2005.

I forgot the exact nature of his injury, but it does seem to be a degenerative one. Still, if it costs virtually nothing, why not grab him just in case?
Not to turn this into an AC thread, but I'll sneak this one in... Would you keep DD or Michael Robinson if you had to pick? Which one has more upside for next season? (There - that should make it not so much of an AC question).
Based on how the other HOU RBs have looked this year DD definitely has value in a keeper/dynasty league.Just need to be patient, it will be 6-9 months before we know how close to 100% he truely is.
I dropped him for the roster spot in my dynasty league. The word is bone on bone and that he wasn't going to play for Houston again. (Don't have a link but search this forum for DD.) Even if he does try again next year he has major hills to climb and shouldn't be guarenteed any type of starting job right-a-way.
I have the dreaded bone on bone in both knees. I have had one knee replaced. Believe me it is very painful to have this. Of course I am 58 years old, so it's a little like apples and oranges. But my point is, once you have it, it doesn't go away. You have good days and bad days, but even on my best day, there's now way I could do any running on it. The only relief is knee replacement, and I don't think anyone will be playing football in the NFL after that. If DD does indeed have bone on bone in his knee, I would think he is done unless there is some miracle cure that comes along very soon.
