Any new on Chester Taylor? (1 Viewer)

I read he was questionable a couple of days ago, and figured it was the same resting scenario from the past couple of weeks, but it seems he was always upgraded to probable at some pt- which I haven't see yet. Any word if he's practicing or are they just resting him? OR does he actually have an injury this time beyond wear and tear.

Taylor will play. He's just being held out of practice for various bumps and bruises...He'll be fine.

http://www.startribune.com/blogs/vikings/Running back Chester Taylor (wrist) is probable after having been listed as questionable on Wednesday and Thursday.

Expect this to be normal procedure with Taylor/ the Vikings. Unfortunately for me CTaylor @CHI appears to be my best option at RB2 this week.

Edit to add - Hutch has also been upped to Probable

hehe...at least you have a decent rb2 right now. My rb1 is Ronnie Brown. Need another Chicago performance like he had the 1st time.

Chester is my #1 now and I need the win, or I am out of the playoffs, so I'm nervous about the matchup, Thankfully I started Housh and Chad J last night so i'm off to a good start(ppr league)!

Yeah ... Chet's been going through this for the past few weeks. He's been a reliable RB2 (behind LT2) in one of my big $ locals. Though the matchup against Da BEARS looks sketchy on the surface, understand that any chance the Vikes have of being in that game, and dictating the pace, will be through copious Chester touches.

My playoffs start next week, and I've already clinched. His playoff sked is a fantasy dream, one of the main reasons I targeted him.

I look for 100 total yds. and a TD this week. Not too shabby from a #2 RB.

That's a bit optimistic considering his match-up and I am also a Taylor owner. Considering the Bears D is 8th against the run, giving up just under 100 yeards and only 4 rushing TD's to date. Pretty stingy if you ask me so a hundie and a touch seems to be a bit optimistic. I hope I am wrong but I am thinking 78 yards and 0 Tds.

I don't think 100 total is so far fetched. 75/25 ... one touch from in close. Not anything earth shattering, just another day at the office.

Agreed that the matchup is not the most favorable, but to throw out the "8th best against the run" argument for the Bears is a bit short sighted. Since Mike Brown's injury, they have been run on with a decent amount of success. Gore, Tiki and R. Brown all put up 100+ yards against them in the last five games. During that time, the Jets actually managed 100yds on the ground, which in itself is noteworthy.Unless the Vikes fall behind big in this game, Chester will get his yards and a decent shot at a score. His YPC may not be pretty, but at the end of the day, he should post respectable numbers.
