Any News on J Charles or L Johnson (1 Viewer)

Just curious if there is any word around KC of Charles taking over for LJ. LJ has really seemed to lost it and Charles really makes the most of his chances so just wondering why Haley hasn't given the starting job to Charles to see what he can do or if there are any rumblings about it happening.

The deactivation of Charles in Week 2 is curious. It was either Haley's way of motivating Charles to eventually take the job or he doesn't really think that highly of Charles [Randy Savage is not anywhere near as talented as Charles, which makes it all the more curious]

Yeah I agree and have been wondering about this, because I personally feel Charles is better the any of the RB on the Chiefs right now and feel he should be getting the ball because when he does get it he makes things happen.

I understood this move as a "RESPECT MY RULES" stand by Haley and Charles responded well. Don't recall the whole story, but it was a power play deal. I like Charles. I see him as a decent flex value based on matchups, but not starter worthy unless there are no other options based on bye or injury. Charles is a nice receiver, but last year he had "stick" legs and no chance to move the pile. He improved, but it's still early in his career to expect too much.

I think Charles just might be a better fit for the current Chief's offense. This current KC offense needs the running back to be able to catch passes, not only to help fit the scheme, but also for the fact that they will likely be playing from behind. I'm not convinced that LJ wouldn't be effective under a different set of circumstances and situation though. I think we will see more of what happened week 3 with Charles getting reception opportunities. Dantrell Savage actually looked decent in week 2.

Agrreed, but Charles just can't work the turnbuckles like the Macho Man did.

This just in:

The Chiefs are terrible, and they have little to no end in sight for improvement.

Sorry, no link to confirm this.

Which is a big reason why I think Charles fits with them better.

Honestly do you feel JC would be any better if Haley put all of that on shoulders instead of LJ?

You think he can handle getting true starter reps? Even with this horrid OLine and offense in general you think JC makes it any better.

LJ getting a bad wrap here just like many other players from teams that have horrible offense. When you stuck in the backfield before

you can even get going its really not on the player as much as it is on the team. I personally feel JC wouldnt be any better starting with

how the offense is setup imo.

Maybe not, but so far when given the opportunities he's been far better with the same oline.

I agree that LJ is getting a bad rap here. I dont think he's lost it as much as this is just a bad football team with a young offensive line. But I think it is a matter of style of play. LJ is a RB that gets better as the game goes along. He needs to on a team that can stay in games and keep defenses somewhat honest with the passing game. The Chiefs as they are constructed now are simply not set up for LJ to be successful. Charles is a substantially inferior RB to LJ but he may be better suited for the way KC is gonna play. LJ would be better suited on another team. If he lands in the right spot next season I think you will see another year or 2 of good FF production out of him.

Macho Man Savage is inactive so whatever it was that told Haley to active him over Charles appears to be done.
From all outward appearances so far it's little voices in his head guiding things. The guy seriously seems to think that randomly applied authoritarian fruit loopery is somehow equivalent to leadership. Tom Coughlin proved that you can be as crazy as an outhouse bat and a team will put up with it as long as you win, but it's not going to fly on a team that goes 3-13.
