Fri, Oct 10 Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions QB Jon Kitna (back) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 10. He saw a back specialist and likely will not play in the team's Week 6 game.

You can't rely on Kitna, nor the Lions, for anything. They could have what looks like the sweetest matchup, and then completely lay an egg. It could be due to the Lions as a team, or to Kitna's habit of giving up the ball under pressure, or a combo of both. In the playoffs, I'd rather start a "safer" choice at QB and shoot for an average score than roll the dice with Kitna.

By the time the FF playoffs roll around Drew Stanton will be getting a look as the Lions QB of the future.

Never know which way to go with that. last year I had the team to beat--#1 seed, riding in with Brady, LT, Gates & Witten, Elam, Minnesota....and lost on a down week to the #7 seed with Manning, Barber and Fitz by one point. (He eventually won the title). Coulda woulda shoulda...Guess the only thing about playing with what got you there is that you would second-guess triple time if you were playing games with that lineup.
