Any recommendations for work boots? (1 Viewer)

I need a good pair of work boots. Something that is sturdy and will take some abuse but won't kill my feet being in them all day. Steel toed not necessarily required, but good sturdy soles that won't puncture easily is a plus.

Chippewa and Red Wing are great names. Whatever you go with, you'd have to try them on first (I would think).

I've got some Georgia's that I love. Can wear them all day long with no problems. Mine aren't steel-toed, but I know they also have those.

Not sure how heavy of a boot you need, but I work in an automobile dealership shop and really like my Merrells. I have a bad foot from a car accident and they are the one shoe/boot that I can wear that does not give my foot problems through the day. They aren't your usual "work boot" though.

I got THESE Timberland ones a year or so ago when they were on super sale. I think I paid like $30 for them. I'm an office guy, so these were just for around-the-house work, but I do some pretty heavy stuff (built a deck in them). They were great. Light, comfortable, stood up to a lot of abuse. No punctures. I got a pair of gel insoles, and that made them nearly perfect in my eyes. Plus they were cheap.

Lugz make a good boot. Spend the money up front so your feet dont hate you.
Yeah, the boots I bought from Payless 6 years ago just to have around weren't nearly up to the task of my new job. The soles are falling apart, my feet and back hurt at the end of the day and I managed to take a pin straight up through my boot into my foot. So yeah, a good pair of boots will definitely be worth it. Especially since I can now deduct it on my taxes.

go all crazy style and get moon boots you will be the #### of the walk brohan take that to the bank

Work America Boots- B. A. Mason..I believe they are manufactured in China though. Been purchasing and wearing what the call the barn boot (black) for about the last 15 years. Water resistant, non slip soles..etc.. take a beating and keep their appearance. once broke-in very comfortable. approx. $125.00

Sorry I think they call them farm boots now

Thinking about getting a nice pair of LL Bean boots for the wife. You literally need to order now for X-mas (they went on huge backorder last year). Any insight? They have the regular, then the thinsulate, then the gor-tex versions. Thanks.

I've been wearing Tim's for close to 20 years and despite my best efforts I've yet to find a better boot.

Those red wing boots might be the most overrated piece of trash I have ever put my foot in. I was all set to drop 200+ on a pair of boots because of their reputation and man was I disappointed.

Whichever pair of boots you go for, think about getting yourself a good set of insoles. They really make a difference.
This. The pair I posted were pretty good with the "stock" insoles, but after 2 12-hour days working on my deck and jumping down to the ground and back up, my feet were killing me...Wife bought me some nice gel insoles, and they were great. Easily as comfortable as my tennis shoes honestly.

Make sure you stick the ends of them in that space between the cabin and bed of your truck so the people driving behind you know you're a "working man."

They break in faster than any other brand I've tried over the last 35 years. Of course, I haven't bought any other brand in the last 15 years, so I really can't speak for other brands currently.

One thing I would suggest if you're dropping $100+ on a good pair of boots - buy one (or two) extra sets of laces.
