Any sim leagues starting up? (1 Viewer)

What type of sim? WIS :hifive: sim? (the answer is yes, looks like a deadball era league). other? I dont know and dont care.

 
What's Sims league? Is this like when you draft players and all games are simulated based on projections and other conditions?

Yes. There are a number of sites/programs out there, but we have a nice contingent of :nerd:s from the FFA who have done almost ten of these over the past three years on www.whatifsports.comWIS has every season ever played in the majors. We pick a theme and then hold a draft. The last sim was a draft of players from 1976-1980, the disco era. This time it looks like a deadball era league, something like 1901-1919. A bunch of us then sim some games live (you act as manager, choose lineup, who to sub, to steal, intentionally walk, outfielders playing in etc for each batter) while the rest are simmed by the computer over the course of a 162 game season.if you click on the link above you will see the league starting to form at rotodugout and you can also look for the disco era thread to see how it goes.www.whatifsports.com has all the info on the sim itself.

Is that a big enough stretch of time with so few teams available? Might need to go another 5 years or so
 
If this draft doesn't start before the beginning of regular baseball drafts, I suspect it'll have to wait until after Opening Day.

I don't really want to be researching Four-toe Moxie McGloo's 1907 season, while I'm keeping track of three other 2008 leagues.
